Why do you need to use "los"?

In "los ojos marrones"?

We use the definite article "los" here because you only have two eyes and therefore we are referring specifically to those eyes. Without "los" it could sound like you are talking about eyes in general, although you could say it.

You can just say "tienen" although "ellos tienen" is also correct.
