Because Jews have cultural, historic, and religious tie to it, the immigrated there to escape persecution. In 1920, Arabs living in Palestine attacked the Jews in Jerusalem. This led to formation of Haganah. They attacked Jews again in 1921 and in 1929 they committed a massacre against Jews. Jews had enough of Arabs and began retaliating.
@en3am1993 PART 2 In 1947, there was partition of Palestine into an Arab and a Jewish state. Jews accepted, greedy Arabs didn't. Jews declared their state in 1948. Arabs declared war on this country. Jews were sick of the Arabs so they began expelling them, and rightly so. But then Arabs expelled Jews from their countries. So what happened was a population exchange. Israel accepted the Jews from Arab countries, but Arab countries did not accept Arabs from Palestine as full citizens.

Because Jews have cultural, historic, and religious tie to it, the immigrated there to escape persecution. In 1920, Arabs living in Palestine attacked the Jews in Jerusalem. This led to formation of Haganah. They attacked Jews again in 1921 and in 1929 they committed a massacre against Jews. Jews had enough of Arabs and began retaliating.

@en3am1993 PART 2 In 1947, there was partition of Palestine into an Arab and a Jewish state. Jews accepted, greedy Arabs didn't. Jews declared their state in 1948. Arabs declared war on this country. Jews were sick of the Arabs so they began expelling them, and rightly so. But then Arabs expelled Jews from their countries. So what happened was a population exchange. Israel accepted the Jews from Arab countries, but Arab countries did not accept Arabs from Palestine as full citizens.

Palestine is not mentioned in the Bible because it was the Romans that started calling that region "Syria-Palestina" after Destruction of Second Temple, in an attempt to erase Jewish roots from that land.
