I love this game, but I still hate the silly game element. "Look a gate, but it's latched, no way to get over it, or unlatch" But I get the point fo the level itself.
I have to say this a very imagery laden game. I have to assume the things she's doing and seeing are some kind of metaphor for traumatic events in her past that she's tried to forget. I just have to hope it'll be made clear by the end because obviously nothing in this game can be taken at face value.
Yeah, this game is pretty symbolic. A lot of the events you see are traumatic events that jennifer has "edited" in her mind so that she can cope with seeing them again, eg: the sexual molestation of both clara and diana... And even possibly herself. To fully understand this game you have to be good at putting things together. And I mean REALLY good =P
Definitely seems like it, i've never seen the game before this but i assume that either she really is bringing back memories from being in the orphanage as a child or the trauma is actually causing her to use the childhood innocence such as the storybooks to mask it from herself.
Either way it's not like movies from some of my film study classes that you really have to stretch to find a meaning. In this you have to to understand it.

Is this game kind of making a statement with the pasties and the mermaid princess? Like I'm afraid to guess, it's a sensitive issue.
