Western Digital 500 GB External Hard Drive Noise

mine is brutally lound...nothing wrong with it but it buzzes all the time and makes clunk clunk noises when it searches for data

i got a caviar green 1.5 tb when i just bought it vew days ago, it almost soundit like my old one but this one only when you go iddle,and this hd is also slow its annoying :X

if you're concerned you can google western digital disk checker - I ran a full scan on mine it'll detect any bad sectors. But yah they do make noise, and yours sounds a little louder than mine.

Keep in mind the microphone recording the audio was sitting by the vent on the left side.

It's not broken... It's just the sound it makes.
