schism tracker was released 2006/7 but the trackers go back to the early 90's, they were all based on/stemmed from the farlight 669 sequencing fromat which goes back past that

yeah modules, known as 'mods', have been abt for years, they used to be used in amiga n st games as the music, imo theyre an unbeatable no cost form of making music on the most basic of pc or amiga/st hardware :)
