I use many different materials even mono line to tie my patterns basically it all depends on size, color and shape of insects I'm imitating. On the Fly Fisherman magazine article years ago where I recommended Coats &Clark threads for general public to use them to tie Yong Special and Yong Flasher because they are readily available even at Walmart. The basic shapes of flies you see on the magazine and my website photos are foundation of AK Flies. Hope this helps.
@pugilist102 Yes way! I have more video footage on mini DV tape (clear than this video) but don't have hardware and software to transfer to my computer.
@yspecial1 Cool....simply amazing. I was wondering if the San Juan Worm works particularly well in that river? It was created by anglers of the San Juan River system correct?
@pugilist102 Sorry, I never used San Juan Worm so can't help you on that. My pattern flies (some were on Fly Fisherman magazine about 11 yrs ago) have been working last 30 plus years better than any other flies so I'll be keep using them. FYI, there are tons of knockoffs are out there so be careful because I am the only one carry genuine AK flies. Go to my website and check out clients photos, my Blog and rest of youtube videos to see how we do with my patterns.

Andy, do you tie your patterns with antron? I checked out your site and it looks like a real thin strand of antron for some of your patterns.

I would say that is more than rather unusual; I am thinking this is not a wild trout, for some reason... anyone else? I mean really....!

I can't do that with my dog, let alone a
trout.
I can't believe there aren't more comments about this video.
This so radical...
