  • watching videos like this is the reason I can play as good as I can. Because I know if they can do it, so can I with practice. Videos like this is why I can now sweep pick decently. Encouragement.

  • % people should have their teeth kicked in!

  • O holy sh... this man eat children for breakfest with guitar! ! !

  • I don't get why the fuck watching a great guitarist would make you wanna stop playing guitar. Honestly thats just stupid to me.....

  • the members of an amateur band disliked this.

  • wooow...

  • Jeff is an egocentric self-absorbed shalow individual, he is utterly tiresome

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY i dont know jeff in person.. they say than of malmsteen too and it might be true...

  • I bet he enters a regular store just to fuck people's hopes and feellings...

  • @Cmopn95 ?? so...how would that be??? I really don't see how watching people play better than u might disencourage you to play guitar

  • When i tried this my fingers fell off.

  • Jason Becker is your teacher .... right?

  • OMG!!!!!!!! WOW!

  • now i will kick to shit my guitar and will start to play the triangle!

  • It looks like me playing random notes as fast as I can, but he's actually playing the coolest guitar solo song ever made.

  • Qué bestia!

  • how many hours does it take to play that well...gosh

  • @nemtall Per day? When I got out of high school I spent about 4 years playing somewhere around 12 hours a day, and I was probably at about 80-85% of that.

So... all of them? All of the hours? lol

  • pidanle la pua

  • goosebumps...

  • I can't listen to this. it's just too good.

  • this guy use the wammy sound like Jason Becker and yeah he totally infulence by JB

  • @MastersShredder He was actually influenced by Yngwie but his style is a lot like Jason's.

  • Don't get fooled by that Planet X 2012 shit... The real reason for the apocalypse is that Jeff's playing will break the speed of light, creating a super-massive black hole that will destroy our solar system.

  • Your damn right i have to go to a clinic after watching this...

  • min 2:29 aleja mas la camara aweonao!!....pfff

  • i wonder why every guitar player as professional, well the most of them has to play solos whit classical versions, lets see, malmsteen, petrucci, loomis, michael anghelo b, michael romeo.

is it posib to see them playing solos at a rolling stones songs or stuff like rock n roll, would be really cool!

  • @comesolito456 they can, but after a while it just gets boring to stick in the pentatonic box, so they expand

  • jeff loomis is one my fav because of how tasteful he is at shredding. yes, its incredibly fast and articulate but its also very beautiful for heavy metal.

  • @1w3rn3r

    No idea... none whatsoever.

  • I've heard some of the fastest, blistering, heaviest guitar instrumentals a person could ever dream of. This is different. This is real. This is Elegant. This has class. This is RIGHT...

  • @PeanutButterGtr

    I understand :)

  • skwisgaar in real life

  • Damn you Jeff!!!... You know i'll never be able to play this, and if i do, by the time i learn it. I'll be damn near hitting 65.. LoL!

  • MY CAT HEARD THIS SONG ........ NOW IS A LION

  • @bloodandroll hahahahhaa that shit made me laugh instantly when i read that lol

  • @WesselsReaper hahahaha yeah is truth !

  • @xBiloOx hahahaha

  • even Chuck Norris needs the pick of destiny in order to play this ;D

  • ALL HAIL JEFF LOOMIS!!!!

  • You cant learn to play like this, you are born with this talent.I dont usually like "shredders" like him. But,there is so much melody in his playing that he trandcends his genre of music.Amazing!!!

  • @1969ryson highly disagree but respect your unwise decision of words

  • @1969ryson

that's just plain not true. nobody picks up the guitar and suddenly can play this because they were born with talent. not even shawn lane was that good. everybody has to work to get to that point. EVERYBODY!!! you don't just suddenly know theory without looking into it. what a dumbass comment.

  • @1969ryson haha, jeff practiced for 8 hours a day, if he could play like this without learning, why should he've done it? it's just a matter of motivation. petrucci practiced >5h/day, dime did, vai did, romeo did, lane did , morse did...

  • I can tell he practices a lot by the way he's albino.

  • @TheFlacidFlamingo hes so white because he lives in seattle, washington..... id kno this because he lives two blocks from my friends house

  • This take sounds like the studio version, that guy is just flawless, wow.....

  • Easily the modern day Guitar God.

  • by ear? are you fuckin insane?

  • this guy is a fucking genius

  • I bet Jeff can use about 15% more of his brain than a normal human..

  • his low strings look like straws they are so heavy, lol

  • ubralod magaria

  • Look at the way the crowd are just stood there speechless.

  • I just bought his signature guitar, Its so awesome!!! Im learning this song, so far got the intro down, those awesome arpeggios.

  • whenever i watch this guy play it makes me want a seven string more and more

  • @shreddernuo Yeah, I've mastered it :)

  • Jeff Loomis is a fucking genius. He's the Will Hunting of guitar. He can pull off the craziest solos and licks you've ever seen with extreme precision and speed, but he can also create some of the best damn riffs for rhythm guitar.

  • Dang! how many songs did he play at this clinic?

  • just by watching this my fingers broke :[

  • jeff owns!

  • hes a god

  • 3:23 - Speedhacking irl

  • Mega Zoom Camera.

Jeff deserves a bloody high five or two

  • From the looks from the people watching I guess you have to be a guitar player to like it! It must be a guy thing. No one is dancing.

  • @crockmister headbanging is the only form of "dancing" that is appropriate for this!

  • @crockmister you don't have to be a violinist to appreciate some Paganini. Same here.

  • 3:17 - 3:40 is when the universe was created

  • 3:17 - 3:40 ☉。☉

  • he the guy starts jamming at 3:00

i would been jamming even before Jeff started playing

  • I wish this was the Demon Souls soundtrack.

  • @dchisey Wow that's such a coincidence cuz I used to put on this album when playing Demon's Souls :p

  • that poor guitar...

  • God I wish I had fingers that long!

  • Jeff loomis teach me! please!

  • I wanna learn this song badly too bad i aint a demi god, i am just human

  • he is indeed very talented and stuff, but this kind of music isn't the thing that kicks me.

  • Music like this should be avaliable 24/7, JEFF LOOMIS WHEN ARE YOU COMMING TO AIKEN, SOUTH CAROLINA, OR AUGUSTA, GEORGIA ? PLEASE COME SOON

  • @RageSoul8 - lol i know right? HOW ABOUT SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA?????

  • un guitarrista demasiado virtuoso

  • my next project: learning this song note-for-note by ear. Goodbye life.

  • @Pulsuhundur LOL hello PUSSY

  • @Pulsuhundur i salute ur brave soul....that's my dream tooo lol

  • @Pulsuhundur it's actually just arpeggios

but yeah, that'll take a long time if you're doing it by ear

  • @Pulsuhundur you mean, goodbye life, hello pure awesomeness

  • @Pulsuhundur I'm the 100th like...

  • Lmao, the song is almost impossible to play, but for a god like Loomis, it's like a walk in the park : almost no mistakes (I don't even think there are)

  • @drook666 false... jeff said himself that he fudges his way through it most of the time

  • @VegetativePropaganda Yeah but you know what I meant, for the ridiculous difficulty of this song, Jeff almost makes no mistakes. There are a couple in the arpeggio section and some off-bends here and there but it's still pretty fucking clean. Anyways, Jeff is awesome :-)

  • the audience is like a Rush concert-all male.

  • Miles of Machines, a work of a genius. An all fucking orchestra just in one guitar. One of the best master pieces I've ever heard. Jeff Loomis dude, you fucking rock. Also, awesome riff in 3:00.

  • Who do I have to suck off to get that good at guitar? He's simply not human - he's a god.

  • the part after 3:22 is just...damn O_o

  • @kingfelipe12 I agree it's mind blowing wicked playing and evil melodies :o

  • It's OK to shed a tear while you listening to this masterpiece !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he is awesomeee!!!!

  • jeff loomis is sweep picking.

  • jason becker would be proud

  • what is the name of the guitar he uses there and on like every track on the album pml, I know its a Schecter but what kind?

  • @F4TB0Y69 its a custom model. you can get on at guitar center. schecter loomis 7-string

  • @lectwar yeah man i found it shortly after that its called Schecter FR Jeff Loomis, I am goin to get the vampire red one here it just looks so nice with the maple neck.

  • @F4TB0Y69 All of them are this color. Only option is the FR or Hardtail.

  • @franksavageryan yeah I am still either planning on one of these or a Dean Razorback 7, the RB doesnt have a noisegate, but this does, the tremolo model does anyway, I have heard people complaining about that issue on them, even in the making of Shogun by Trivium they go through some measures to prevent the noise so again i aint sure =]

  • @franksavageryan Check that! Black ones are out ... look cool. Maybe I'll play better with a black one...

  • THOSE ARPEGGIOS ARE FUCKING INSANE!!!

  • Loomis IS THE BEEST

  • amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • I wish I could play 1/1000 of what he can...

  • perfect

  • I bought two of his guitars and I still can't play like that. WTF?

  • @franksavageryan it is beyond humans to play like that ;)

  • @franksavageryan

    practice,practice,practice...then practice some more

  • @hotrod9983 Yeah, right. Next you'll try to convince me that the only way to lose weight is through diet and exercise... communist! ;-) I must admit that I played a show a couple weeks ago and used the Loomis 7-String and had a bunch of people come up afterward and ask, "Dude! Where did you get that guitar!" Funny thing is, when I bought mine 2 years ago or so, it was almost impossible to find a hard tail. Now they're everywhere and about 15% less expensive. Go figure...

  • @franksavageryan probably because you aren't jesus christ himself.

  • @franksavageryan jeff loomis= this gen eddie van halen

  • @franksavageryan hahahahaha srsly?

  • @Den1sVengeance ... as a heart attack. I play out fairly regularly but admit without hesitation that I am smoked by Loomis or even those guitarists that do half of those sweeped arpeggios. I agree that practice is key but there is also that God given talent gift thing for which I have sadly been overlooked and Loomis got more than 99.9999%. But yeah, I have 2 of his guitars and they took some getting used to. The things are baseball bats and not for people with small hands. Cheers!

  • @franksavageryan

    lol???

just because you bought his guitar doesn't mean that you can play like him you idiot xD

  • @TheAKGp0wer Yes, I'm an idiot because I made a joke about the equipment versus the talent to use the tools. Apologies around to those who think buying this guitar will improve your skill!

  • @franksavageryan No you have to buy the burgundy one to play better..it says it on his website and how to play like loomis book.

  • @Behemoth941 LOL! That's it! I didn't buy the book too! The secret must be the magical combination of the two! Woe is me...

  • @franksavageryan

its not the guitar that makes you good idiot

  • @TheMrAbaddon ... and YouTube replies obviously don't give you a sense of humor.

  • @franksavageryan its alright, mrabaddon never had a sense of humor to begin with...

  • @franksavageryan Jeff said that the guitar you buy to Schecter is EXACTLY the same as his guitar. He said that his guitar was made in the same factory.

  • @MacMarytahu seriously?

  • @MacMarytahu

Although that is true, he uses more higher end schecters during live performances. He only uses his own model during guitar clinics/demonstrations.

  • @MacMarytahu ive played them. Theyre fantastic for the price!

  • @franksavageryan If you start out with awesome guitars, you're more likely to suck. Get a $300 ESP. I got pretty good in a year of playing.

  • @ChewyCervantes I think it's fair to say that most of us have probably started on cheaper guitars. I started in the 80's playing on a Hohner Scorpion. I too was able to get pretty good since I sat in my dorm room for hours a day raking through scales. Then I splurged on a real guitar... what a world of difference. These days, even cheaper guitars have decent quality. But in all seriousness, Jeff Loomis' skill is among a handful on earth. It's as fun to watch him play as it is listen to him.

  • @ChewyCervantes I find amps to be what holds me back the most, but I do think a decent quality but relatively cheap guitar (Schecter, Ibanez, Epiphone) is very beneficial to an aspiring musician.

I've always had lackluster solid state amps, and when I practice I can sit back and look past the muddy tone and horrible feedback, but only for so long. I find it gives me a headache and uninspires me more than anything, decent gear can definitely help playing (as amotivator) but isn't a necessity.

  • @franksavageryan Maybe because you need to practice more? lol

  • @franksavageryan if its the tone you are talking about then you have to buy a Engl amp, dunno what's the model tough :)

  • @zurgoku Engl Powerball, plus a Ibanez Tube Screamer 9.

  • I can feel his energy through a video on youtube, imagine seeing him in person

  • that is one lucky crowd..

  • SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME IM GONNA GO FUCKING PRACTICE NOW

  • Great skills I admit, but extremely boring "music". Sounds like scale practice on steroids. Good guitar solos don't have to be 100 notes/sec from start to end.

  • @ElfTheBudgie haha jealous much?

  • damn, an hour ago I thought to myself "I'll watch one Jeff Loomis video before I go play Mafia II".... look what happened! not that it's bad or anything, my all time favorite guitarist :)

  • wow!!!!!

  • Nice to hear wicked shredding

  • He might be a Jason Becker reincarnate, but He's WAY older than Jason was when he could play this fast. Jason was this fast at 16 years old....

  • @xwolbx You should check out Jeff soloing for a competition at his website jeffloomisdotcom at only 16 years old. He was also wicked fast very young.

  • @Dragonvc27 Thats what I was implying you stupid fuck.

  • @xwolbx Miss understood, Dont have a stroke.

  • @xwolbx so was jeff loomis. he has been that fast since 16.

  • @BbEbAbDbGbBbEb Becker is faster.

  • @xwolbx really? is there a video of him playing id really like to see! I love jeff loomis and am open to any other guitarists work!

  • @BbEbAbDbGbBbEb No videos, there's a CD he recorded when he and Marty Friedman was with Cacophony. The most noted song I can think of is on their first CD called "Speed Metal Symphony". It's the best guitar work to date, and it was made in 1986 when Becker was only 17. Friedman was 22 or something like that. Also, Matt Heafy and Corey Beaulieu of Trivium are 2 amazing guitarists. The fastest are Chris Storey and Rusty Cooley.

  • @xwolbx I've been a trivium fan since i was young. And my old guitar teacher was frineds with rusty cooley. ill have to check out chris storey

  • @xwolbx Shawn Lane. is the fastest. Speed metal symphony is a great album though really no bad tracks on it as far as guitar. The vocals aren't the best.

  • @xwolbx chris storey is not near the fastest... shawn lane and rusty rooley are the fastest...

  • @TheWhocares233 Well, Chris learned from Rusty. Who the fuck cares, smart ass.

  • @xwolbx i do have a smart ass

  • @TheWhocares233 your ass has no Brain, and neither do you, Moron.

  • @xwolbx You should check out "Jeff Loomis Wisconsin Guitar Wars" it's a guitar contest entry when he was 16. He is definitely that fast at 16 :P

  • No question about it, Jeff doesn't just rip it up, he swallows it and shits it out. Hands down he's one of the best shredders you'll ever see. Hats off to Jeff.

  • This.is.pure.intense.shit. =D

  • flawless

  • I love the improv at 4:07 to 4:20

  • so jason becker like most of that!

  • incredible how he plays this live, what an idol

  • Jeff Loomis kick ass ^ ^
