watching videos like this is the reason I can play as good as I can. Because I know if they can do it, so can I with practice. Videos like this is why I can now sweep pick decently. Encouragement.
Hey guys, I just released a track call "The Conspiracy" Id love for you guys to check it out. I used my Jeff Loomis signature model on the track. Jeff is a huge inspiration to me, same with Becker, Friedman and many others!!! (/watch?v=lnurPAUCW2c) Just entered that link in to watch it or just go to my channel!!!!
@nemtall Per day? When I got out of high school I spent about 4 years playing somewhere around 12 hours a day, and I was probably at about 80-85% of that.
Don't get fooled by that Planet X 2012 shit... The real reason for the apocalypse is that Jeff's playing will break the speed of light, creating a super-massive black hole that will destroy our solar system.
i wonder why every guitar player as professional, well the most of them has to play solos whit classical versions, lets see, malmsteen, petrucci, loomis, michael anghelo b, michael romeo.
is it posib to see them playing solos at a rolling stones songs or stuff like rock n roll, would be really cool!
jeff loomis is one my fav because of how tasteful he is at shredding. yes, its incredibly fast and articulate but its also very beautiful for heavy metal.
I've heard some of the fastest, blistering, heaviest guitar instrumentals a person could ever dream of. This is different. This is real. This is Elegant. This has class. This is RIGHT...
You cant learn to play like this, you are born with this talent.I dont usually like "shredders" like him. But,there is so much melody in his playing that he trandcends his genre of music.Amazing!!!
that's just plain not true. nobody picks up the guitar and suddenly can play this because they were born with talent. not even shawn lane was that good. everybody has to work to get to that point. EVERYBODY!!! you don't just suddenly know theory without looking into it. what a dumbass comment.
@1969ryson haha, jeff practiced for 8 hours a day, if he could play like this without learning, why should he've done it? it's just a matter of motivation. petrucci practiced >5h/day, dime did, vai did, romeo did, lane did , morse did...
Jeff Loomis is a fucking genius. He's the Will Hunting of guitar. He can pull off the craziest solos and licks you've ever seen with extreme precision and speed, but he can also create some of the best damn riffs for rhythm guitar.
Lmao, the song is almost impossible to play, but for a god like Loomis, it's like a walk in the park : almost no mistakes (I don't even think there are)
@VegetativePropaganda Yeah but you know what I meant, for the ridiculous difficulty of this song, Jeff almost makes no mistakes. There are a couple in the arpeggio section and some off-bends here and there but it's still pretty fucking clean. Anyways, Jeff is awesome :-)
Miles of Machines, a work of a genius. An all fucking orchestra just in one guitar. One of the best master pieces I've ever heard. Jeff Loomis dude, you fucking rock. Also, awesome riff in 3:00.
@lectwar yeah man i found it shortly after that its called Schecter FR Jeff Loomis, I am goin to get the vampire red one here it just looks so nice with the maple neck.
@franksavageryan yeah I am still either planning on one of these or a Dean Razorback 7, the RB doesnt have a noisegate, but this does, the tremolo model does anyway, I have heard people complaining about that issue on them, even in the making of Shogun by Trivium they go through some measures to prevent the noise so again i aint sure =]
@hotrod9983 Yeah, right. Next you'll try to convince me that the only way to lose weight is through diet and exercise... communist! ;-) I must admit that I played a show a couple weeks ago and used the Loomis 7-String and had a bunch of people come up afterward and ask, "Dude! Where did you get that guitar!" Funny thing is, when I bought mine 2 years ago or so, it was almost impossible to find a hard tail. Now they're everywhere and about 15% less expensive. Go figure...
@Den1sVengeance ... as a heart attack. I play out fairly regularly but admit without hesitation that I am smoked by Loomis or even those guitarists that do half of those sweeped arpeggios. I agree that practice is key but there is also that God given talent gift thing for which I have sadly been overlooked and Loomis got more than 99.9999%. But yeah, I have 2 of his guitars and they took some getting used to. The things are baseball bats and not for people with small hands. Cheers!
@TheAKGp0wer Yes, I'm an idiot because I made a joke about the equipment versus the talent to use the tools. Apologies around to those who think buying this guitar will improve your skill!
@franksavageryan Jeff said that the guitar you buy to Schecter is EXACTLY the same as his guitar. He said that his guitar was made in the same factory.
@ChewyCervantes I think it's fair to say that most of us have probably started on cheaper guitars. I started in the 80's playing on a Hohner Scorpion. I too was able to get pretty good since I sat in my dorm room for hours a day raking through scales. Then I splurged on a real guitar... what a world of difference. These days, even cheaper guitars have decent quality. But in all seriousness, Jeff Loomis' skill is among a handful on earth. It's as fun to watch him play as it is listen to him.
@ChewyCervantes I find amps to be what holds me back the most, but I do think a decent quality but relatively cheap guitar (Schecter, Ibanez, Epiphone) is very beneficial to an aspiring musician.
I've always had lackluster solid state amps, and when I practice I can sit back and look past the muddy tone and horrible feedback, but only for so long. I find it gives me a headache and uninspires me more than anything, decent gear can definitely help playing (as amotivator) but isn't a necessity.
Great skills I admit, but extremely boring "music". Sounds like scale practice on steroids. Good guitar solos don't have to be 100 notes/sec from start to end.
damn, an hour ago I thought to myself "I'll watch one Jeff Loomis video before I go play Mafia II".... look what happened! not that it's bad or anything, my all time favorite guitarist :)
