This never occurred to me or any of my friends. Sure we had errors from time to time, but if memory serves right, it went to a blue screen that said something about inserting a proper CD or something...

In graphical look, it was kinda similar to the "menu" that you got to when you left the lid open. Also, just a bit of trivia, since not many people may realize this, but PSX could run (legit) audio-CD's and even had it's software to control it :D

This is, when you for example a Video CD (I had it, when i put a copy of a Movie, which was saved on a CD)

By the way: at DVD and Blue Ray is there nothing, because he can't read the data('s) on the DVD or Blue Ray

red screen is only on slim models of ps1

the first model is just blue screen of death

but still said Please insert playstation disc.

Back in my childhood (ten or so years ago) even the game review shows referred to as PSX. I these days do know about the doodad that's the "official" PSX.

But to me and almost everybody else apart from you, PSX = PS1 for ever.

to me it's happened the same thing, but with a blue screen of death and it was saying :please insert playstation cd-rom.and i inserted ps cd-rom i inserted mr driller! 5 years ago it was working but now not, so i had to order it to someone!
