Adoniram Judson and the Sovereignty of God

Does God order the trials, or does the enemy who steals, kills and destroys do so? I wrestle with the sovereignty of God since I do not see such a term in the body. Do we just allow the devils work in our life and chalk it up to the sovereignty of God or are we suppose to take dominion over the enemy who tries to bring calamity into our lives? I do not have the answer yet but wrestle now with these two thoughts.
