  • Yeah, there's Steve Martin, Tony T. and who's that other guy on the left?

It's only the world's greatest banjo player, Bigfoot Himself.

  • not to mention bela of corse lol!

  • Three of the best banjo players of all time playing together, this is fucking awesome.

  • man i would love to have them at my house for a party, that would be the best

  • i saw him when we were both very small......

  • Steve worked at Disney Land as a street performer. He also wrote for The Smothers Brothers at the start. What cant this guy do? He is awesome.

  • I don't know. Finger shadows, balloon animals, juggling, cheerleading... I think he's pretty much got it all covered!

  • i chatted with him and his whole band at a festival one time. it was cool.

  • Steve Martin is one of my heroes.

    Not that anybody asked.

    ;7

  • If I'm not mistaken, this song is called "The Crow" and was composed by Steve Martin himself.

Is there anything in the entertainment industry this man doesn't excel at?

    :3

  • Making balloon animals.

    Wait, he does that, too!

    Guess you're right.

  • and he's a magician

  • Being able to play banjo after being shot in the head with an arrow is an admirable skill, I think!

  • Like these three need to rehearse anything...They could play any song on the fly and make it sound like a masterpiece!

  • I second that!

  • For the benefit of us Bluegrass newbies... What is the name of the song please?

    :)

    Really nice piece.

  • Song is "The Crow" from Grammy Nominated Tony Trischka album, Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular.

  • @toddspire And Steve wrote it, one of many he's written.

  • @artisticbend "The Crow" - Steve Martin wrote it.

  • Really nice!

  • Of all Martin-Trischka videos here I've seen so far, this one has superior sound. Thank you, Steve, for introducing us newbies to double-C tuning. And also for May, 2007 Tab of the Month (of the Year, I'd say!) in Banjo Newsletter.

  • I did it again, didn't I? Tony the credit for the tab is yours. Steve Martin gave permission and contributed to the transcribing.

  • ahh, magical !

  • Steve plays the song in double C tuning, but I think Bela and Tony play it in standard G tuning. This song is the best.

  • Cool post.

  • We need more backstage moments like this. Sweet!

  • Man that was just great!!!

  • So cool to see them in the green room! Like a backstage pass.

  • Yup!
