  • looks like the people of boeing lost their passion on building 747-8 aft they lost to a380

  • 747 is a beast

  • Airbus, where is the whale back, we want it back.

  • 747 - Best Passenger Plane

Antonov 225 - Best Cargo Plane

  • with the spacerocket on it. it looks a bit like the antonov 225

  • A380 sucks

  • It mentioned it carries the US president, it carries the space shuttle but it mentioned NOTHING about the 747 involving in the top 10 worst plane crashes in history, Tenerife 1977, JAL Flight 123, TWA Flight 800, this is all brainwash, I'm still with Airbus.

  • @JundaComputersGmbH And none of those 3 were caused or even partially caused by a design flaw...

  • @JundaComputersGmbH

That because there are lots of 747s therefor accident is waiting to happen. Imagine if the A380 crash. It would kill double amount of passengers compared to boeing 747. Hopefully that would never happen. Knock on wood...

  • It's too bad the Airbus A380 is now the biggest passenger jet

  • at 3:48 that the exact plane I fly over japan

  • I fly a b747

  • @lanceriver this documentary was made before the a380

  • A380 IS SHIT

  • 6:56

  • a380 is bigger then 747

  • Sory, but the Airforce One isnt a B747, its a Military constructure of Boeing called The Boeing VC-25

  • @AndrewsRaynolds The VC-25 is a modified version of Boeing's 747-200B which is still 747. The derivatives are only interior configurations (Airforce One) and both VC -25s having the same 747 airframe technology of the 1960s. My father in law worked on the early series of 747s making modifications and installing electrical and navigation equipment.

  • " A mircale called rotation happens "

    That's physics, dumbass lol

  • Do you have the original file somewhere, this is low quality

  • The current B-747 is in carbon fiber made instead of aluminum, so they say. That makes it lighter and fuel save.

  • the almighty 747 the original jumbo jet queen of the sky

  • The music at 6:49 sounds like farts.

  • @AstroMayan Your comment made my day somehow... XD

  • these video came before airbus A380 so for some of u please stop comparing these video oke, plus A380 is still in a small portion compare of these legend 747

  • ahh the good old days ,when discovery actually had good shows like this instead of the reality crap they have now

  • A380 is the biggest but 747 remain king of sky forever for its ultimate design....Congrats BOEING

  • they said when they convert the antonov to a passenger version it could carry 1000 passengers

  • @indahooddererste actually the an 225 could theoretically carry a max of 1500 people however its not worth the trouble converting it

  • Haha it (was) the biggest at one point in time thats was boeings goal to design the jumbo jet but Airbus now holds that award for the biggest passenger jet.

  • i watched the videos about the antonov planes before this and now this plane seems like nothing. all these workers are like oh my it's so big. -have you heard about the antonov?!?

  • @JohnHFilms

I kno that but the concord isn't in service anymore therefore making the citation X the fastest commercial jet (doesn't matter if it's private or not it's still a commercial jet because it carries civilian passengers)

  • @lJohnHFilms

I kno that but it not in service anymore so therefore the citation is the current fastest commercial jet (doesn't matter if it's private or not it's still a commercial jet because it carries civilian passengers)

  • Fastest commercial jet is the cessna citation X going at Mach .92

  • @stephqaz commercial? hah mmkay

  • @stephqaz The Citation X is more for private, the Concorde is the fastest with Mach 2.

  • The 747 stills the most beautiful airplane in the world

  • @Eduardor1974

I'm French and I agree with you

  • not bigest passenger plane anymore.....A380 have taken over

  • @MrAznboii11 but soon A380 will die......

  • Biggest

    Maximum plp it can carry

    NOT ANY MORE!!!

  • a380 aint really the biggest no more. the brand new 747-800 is much more sleaker and not ugly unlike the a380.

  • @punkyboy2 the antonov is the biggest :D it's just not passenger capable

  • Nada como un airbus a380 es el mejor de todos

  • No more NORTHWEST!

  • just curious does the first one built still exist?:)

  • @kevrs2 Yes, it's housed at the Museum of Flight on Boeing Field, Washington.

  • Americans are jealous.

  • @beavertown2006 : Jealous??? I've been all over Europe...everyone in Europe lives in an apartment!

  • @TheVargr A380 best plane i have ever flown on so smooth, quiet and comfortable i was scared at 1st but after take of it was awesome! at take off you dont really even hear the engines and it only feels like your going 30mph its that smooth!! the leg room is good, and they have little usb things in the head rests infront of you, you can plug into your laptop to connect to the internet its awesome :D

  • @bazilisginger

With the engines so quiet, can you now hear everyone's cvonversation? If there's one thing about audible engines is that is becomes white nosie that blocks out crying babies and loud conversations.

  • @bigtwit ever been on an A380??

  • the problem with the 7 A380 is also its greatest strength, its size / weight it can only land at big reinforced runways and must have special and neads stronger maintance machines and larger waiting areas . thats why i do have to say the 747 and 787 are better

  • @shqipe1996 thats just not true the sizes are very similar because they just added a second floor

  • Not for long Boieng Is coming out with the 747 dash 8 and going to be big

  • yup its old cuz a380 is th biggest.

  • not as good as the A380.....

  • @gokul009

come on we finished 747 first double deck jet in 1969 and fist commercial flight in 1970

you can compare how much we moving forward than A380, A380 first flight in 2008

holly molly....... where have you been guy for so long...????

  • @cybergasman1 the 747 first flight was in 1969 and the a380 first flight was in 2005

  • 747 is the most iconic aircraft and is the most recognizable by everyone in the world

  • the AIRBUS A380 is very best

  • @0477ocean

come on we finished 747 first double deck jet in 1969 and fist commercial flight in 1970

you can compare how much we moving forward than A380, A380 first flight in 2008

holly molly....... where have you been guy for so long...????

  • Does anyone else agree that the 747 is wayyyyyyyy more beautiful than the A380???

  • @cookiecave1283 The A380 is fugly! Its just huge! The 747 is beautiful, and its newest version, the 747-8 is even more beautiful!

  • @skratchkamot I would deffinately have to agree. I've flown on 747s back in the 90s but would be too terrified to fly on a A380. Its just too huge and fat for me. The 747 looks very aro dynamic still and unlike many other planes that been around as long as it still looks fairly modern.

  • @bazilisginger that's not the a380's configuration. its the airlines.

  • Wow!!! some comments getting waaay off target of THIS video...lets stay on track here..lol

  • @MrWillydoit

What about the multistage rockets that were developed in the USSR, that the US now uses...and the thrust vectoring of fighter planes that the US also uses and which was developed in the USSR. Oh i forgot, what about the dynamic reactive armour, that the US military has only just started copying from the Russian's ? Should i go on ?

  • an225 makes this plane look like a kids toy

b4 anyone posts idiotic replies i know the narrarator said biggest passenger plane and i know this was made in 03

  • this is not the biggest today, but its the first monster jet in the history of aviation

  • @GTAstuntman101 i know that's y i said that i knew it was made back in 2003 b4 the a380

  • did they drop the ER 400 ? for the 800 `?

  • Its funny to hear the comments on size - she's dwarfed by the A380, AN 124, and AN 225 :)

  • @antimatterXXXIII nope A380 and 225 only 124v is a pice of crap

  • Antonov AN-124

    Wing span 73.30m (240ft), length 69.10m (226ft), height 20.78m (68ft 2in).

    C-5 Galaxy

    Wing span 67.80m (222.9ft), length 75.30m (247.10ft), height 19.84m (65.1ft).

    B744LCF

    Wing span 64.44m (211ft), length 70.67m (231ft), height 19.41m (63ft).

  • how old is this video? 10 years old? Before A380 rivals for the biggest passenger aircraft in the world

  • @smartbotX

I don't think that this video is 10 years old, because i'm not sure that this show was on 10 years ago. Don't forget, the A380's plans were not finalized and given the ok for a long, long time....so it might have be a couple of years old....

  • @sdnmans 2003

  • sadly the 747-400 is no longer in production line

  • As much as I always wanted to be able to understand people talking under water, I don't think is going to happen by watching this video.

  • Good, but stop going on about how large it is! Fucking Americans don't you just love them?

  • i like the old colors of northwest airlines

  • They say this is the speedest subsonic passenger plane in the world, false this is the russian trijet Tu-154M

  • the A380 is now the biggest commercial passenger jet, and they say it is the 747 that is the biggest, why, BECAUSE THE VID IS LIKE 10 YEARS OLD, so ya, the russian plane is probably faster, but it wasnt 10 years ago

  • the TU-154 made is first flight in 70's

  • oh, thank you for correcting me

  • @gfinn08: 747 is longer though.

  • @pete5668 the 747 is NOT longer. The A380 is precisely 2 meters longer

  • Unfortunately very poor sound!

    sometimes hard to understand

  • What ya gonna do - pay for cable?

  • Not really, you can rate the video as "poor" (that's what the ratings are for) and go to exleader75's channel and watch the entire documentary with a decent sound, not to mention a much better english too.

  • this plane is so succesful 40 years and i think it is better then the a380 (747-8) the amazing part is it gets of the ground it made huge jets possible too by making air ports bigger

  • I love the 747, not only does it have the most distinctive shape in modern aviation, but it's a pleasure to fly. However, the arse-licking nature of this documentary is a little over the top -- and the problem with going on about how big you are is that eventually Ron Jeremy is going to turn up and say "whatever, dude".

  • @MrAdaLovelace ron jeremy's wiener isn't so impressive anymore

  • what? the 747 flies to the moon?

  • what the hell, the 747 soes fly at the speed of sound?

  • No. I guess there is a chance a max cruising speed at cruising altitude if you did a straight nose dive it could get there, but I doubt that will ever happen.

  • or put your nose down in full thrust

  • If I'm not mistaken, that is what I said.

  • lol, ur right, that is what is said

  • yeah its sooo big like the size of my cock lol

  • modern technology demands the device or the machine to be lightweight and more powerful not heavy,in the whole video they did'nt stated the advantage of that plane, maybe im wrong but an engineer stated that "if the device is in size of a room compress it the size of desk,if it is a form of desk make it portable and if u cannot make it more small pack it with twice the power"

  • it will shoot missiles out of the sky with lasers?

  • yes, those ICBMs are not a problem now

the Airborne Laser is a Boeing 747 lol

  • its becouse the painting of those 747 are old like the japan and nwa

  • @GTAstuntman101

Too bad the Russians have now developed the SS-27 TOPOL M ICBMS they cannot be shot down with anyone currently available on earth :D. It even forced the US government to rethink their missle defence shield which now wont even be built for about 10-15 years.

  • simple, just upgrade it to boil any metal and ta-dah, it can make anything going to the sky fall down

  • @smiliesbw ya it will house a lazer that heats up a missiles fuel tank to the point that it explodes

  • isn't antonov the biggest?

  • true but he said the biggest passenger aircraft but the biggest is now a380

  • @kingkro2 This TV show is OLD. from early 2000's I think.

  • @kingkro2 But the A380 will never be as iconic are as well used as the 747 :)

  • @kingkro2 it may not e the biggest anymore but I highly doubt that the A380 will have the same legacy as the 747.

  • @CRJflyer yes you are right but although both airplane are very good

  • @kingkro2 sorry the video couldn't predict what will happen in the future

  • @kingkro2 Yeah but there are like 100 orders, and A380 development didn't do anything revolutionary.

  • The Antonov is a Freighter

Anyways this film is made in 2003

And the Airbus A380 is introduced in 2007

  • Ya but this video looks kind of old.

  • biggest passenger airplane bid by airlines lol

  • i fly this jet for qantas. i fly the 747-400ER

  • 'We're the biggest and the best'...... not anymore LOL

  • still the best;)

  • you said it!

  • is this boeing, or NorthWest, the struggling airliner?

  • 747 for life!!!!

  • Agreed

  • the idea of supersonic flight is to take off go through the sound barryer and land in one piece , that means 747 cannot fly over mach 1 it can only crash over speed of sound , Crashing and flying are differend verbs , it is like saying Yes I can take a sharp corner in a lorry , yes I can , ONCE

  • dont try to tell me that 747 can crack the speed of sound because thats simply not true

  • I actually think it can. If it is unloaded, I am sure it could, if the pilot pushes the throttle to max. but I think the aircraft would disintegrate as it goes over mach1

  • Correct you are. The 747 can indeed fly past mach 1. Actually, most aircraft with enough power can. The difference between a supersonic and subsonic aircraft is that the supersonic one can pass mach 1 and stay in one piece.

The 747 has been taken to mach .95 in testing. Unloaded this causes severe buffeting but it will survive. At about .98 mach I believe it can rip itself apart.

Some smaller airliners with lower speed wings such as the Boeing 737 will rip apart at just over mach .91 AFAIK.

  • it can. It'll rip apart though. Mach .95 is surviveable in the 747

  • Wow arent you full of immaturity

  • Comment removed

  • Bull shit.

    The DC-9 isn't even a widebody...

  • LOVe this jet go boeing boo airbus a380

  • are you telling me this plane is a FIRIN MAH LAZER!

  • blast missles outta the sky with a lazer? that seems a bit childish

  • childnish not really... soon to b reality search it on youtube so you can really understand it

  • @dcharles09

Too bad the Russians have developed the new ICBMS, the the SS-27 TOPOL M, that cannot be shot down by anything in teh world at present.

  • Airbus 380 rocks..mate

  • how could you say the flying pig rocks lol, 747 400 forever

  • thanks man

  • I think the major heavy builders have always had a healthy competition - the results are awesome from all involved!

  • Made with pride in the USA!!

  • All Airbus Aircraft copy Boeing aircraft

Boeing made the 707, Airbus made the A300

Boeing made the 737, Airbus made the A320 (A LONG time later)

Boeing made the 747, Airbus made the A380

Boeing made the 757/767, Airbus made the A330

Airbus made the A330/340, Boeing made the 777 (the only one where airbus built it first)

The Boeing made the 777-3XX, airbus is making the A350

Without Boeing, Airbus would be nothing :)

  • Airbus made the A380 about 40 years after the 747.

  • Airbus do not copy all Boeing aircraft. In fact Boeing copy Airbus a lot.

    First twin engined widebody:

    Airbus A300-1974

    Boeing B767 -1982

First to use fly-by-wire flight controls:

    Airbus - A320 - 1987

    Boeing - B777 -1995

And in May 1994 Boeing even tried to buy a second hand A320 to display in Seatlle which they claimed was to "motivate their employees".

  • I can't help but laugh at these comparisons. Of course one company has to come first and the other second.

The most impressive thing about the competition is how quickly Airbus was able to take over 50% of the aviation market in less than half the time of Boeing.

Don't get me wrong. I think Boeing and Airbus should be admired equally but you need to give credit where credit is due.

Airbus have done something amazing getting to where they are today. They have outsold Boeing for a while now!

  • the 747-400 is the biggest in 747 however 747-8 will be bigger than 747-400 with wings long about 12 metre

  • The best aircraft ever made in history, without it, the A380 wouldn't have exist.

  • Concorde :)

  • I agree with kraetwin. Concorde is the best aircraft ever made and its something the Americans have never been able to achieve themselves. The British and French governments really achieved something the day Concorde flew the first time. It was a crime to ground Concorde but I understand why it was grounded.

Now before you say anything, I really appreciate all of Boeing and Airbus' aircraft and enjoy watching them equally.

  • good point!!!!

  • I wished i had one...

  • where would u put it if i had 1 i would just sit in the cockpit for hours

  • I would park it in my parking.....

  • I like the use of a series of periods to express your sarcasm

  • how old is this vid cuz the 747 as amazing of a plane it is, is not the largest passenger plane anymore.

  • Yahh it is the A380 . . . . .

  • This is so...... Okay, I'll just say it out loud; it comes across as one long commercial for Boeing.

  • Kai Tak + b747 = Awesome lol

  • I can't believe that the most powerful engines now go to the 777-300ER with 115,300 lbs of thrust! Superb video.

  • Comment removed

  • wrong, they are on a Boeing 777, GE90's

  • did it ever occur to you this documentary was filmed a few years before the airbus a380 was made??? donkey.....

  • AIRBUS A380 is the biggest, lucurious and with the highest technology...sorry boeing. lol

  • true, but the boeing 747 is more respected and groundbreaking than the a380. without the 747, no a380 sorry lol

  • Without the A300 no 767,777 or 787.

    Sorry lol

  • lol so...that has nothing to do with the 747 psh lol... im not a hater of Airbus but you have to admit that Boeing has done some pretty historicial things

  • Yes Boeing has done some great things.

I was just pointing out that whilst you claim that "without the 747, no a380 sorry" I could also claim that without the A300(the first twin widebody) there would be no 767,777, or 787:)

  • lol clearly airbus and boeing are both just amazing

  • Comment removed

  • Without the 787 there is no A350.

  • You say without the 787 there would be no A350.

So I could say to you back that without the A300 there would be no B767 no B777 and no B787.

  • Yeah, but Boeing did better in selling there products.

  • Yes they did but Boeing was established in 1916 compared to Airbus in 1970 so its hardly surprising Boeing have sold more.

When Boeing brought out their first twin engined widebody around 1980 they had already been a company for over 60 years.

Airbus started in 1970 with massive compettion from two well-established companys - Boeing and McDonnell Douglas.

If you want a fair assement of sales look at the last 10 years. Airbus and Boeing sales are split virtually 50/50.
