Yo Freitasex, Last night I made this cake and it was excellent too. I Love the banana flavor all through the cake however I don't believe my caramel icing was right. Are you using dark or light brown sugar. The Caramel icing was maybe too sweet and kinda grainy. This of course didnt stop me from having a piece of it for breakfast this morning. I had to be sure it was to sweet before writing this comment and I will certainly have to check the cake again tonight when i get home from work. Cheers
OK so after a day sitting covered on my counter this became the most awesome cake I have ever had. The icing was smooth and creamy and the cake was perfect. I will have a 2nd attempt at this today when my friends arrive.
I LOVED YOUR VIDEOS TILL I WATCHED THE END WHEN YOU FUCKING SMACK LIKE CRAZY AND EAT WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL!!!!THT BUGGS ME TO DEATH UGHHHHHHHHHH NAST STUPID UNPOLITE (good cake making) SMAKER UGHHH
LOVE YOUR VIDEO. MY GRABDMOTHER MADE THIS CAKE ALSO, BUT SHE DIDNT ADD SO MUCH POWDERED SUGAR TO ICEING. ALSO SHE TOOK A TOOTHPICK AND MADE HOLES IN THE TOP OF THE LAYERS AND BRUSHED ON A BIT OF WATER WITH BANANA EXTRACT ADDED. THEN SHE CUT BANNANA SLICES ON THE TOP OF THE BOTTOM LAYER AFTER SHE ICED IT ADDED THE TOP LAYER ICED THE REST OF THE CAKE AND LET THE CAKE SET FOR AT LEAST ONE DAY BEFORE SHE CUT IT . IT WAS WONDERFUL MOIST A GREAT CAKE.
It's lovely! Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all good. We all learn from mistakes, and sometimes the mistakes make the best stuff!! I love the cake recipe and never knew before how to make caramel icing. I will just add a little less powdered sugar!
Put all of this into ziploc bag mix then put in the salmon and let it sit overnight
Then cook it up and reduce the soak stuff if you like i usually like to cook with onions but you can also do your spins on this as you like try it and enjoy
Uh oh...baking...my fav!! That looked sooooo good! I'm running away and NOT taking down this recipe at the moment...you know why...lol Maybe a banana bread won't be as dangerous for me as this cake! :-)
I tried that... with no icing sugar and the frosting never well what happened, the icing just dripped everywhere and would not hold it's shape, sort of like chocolate ganash, yes my spelling is bad.
This is a cooked icing and may be why it does harden up some.
I don't have much of a sweet tooth. In fact I mostly prefer salty stuff. However, everytime I see you post a dessert, I think it wouldn't interest me but I completely change my mind after watching it. Absolutely delicious looking. WOW
i would do anything to get a kitchenaid mixer, but in australia they're just over $700, i'm too poor.......such a handy tool in the kitchen same with the food processor, which i also don't own :-(
This cake reminds me of your fabulous "apple cake"
By the way, i'm going to make the apple cake in 2 or 3 days again! I'll let you know how it turned out. Maybe I'll upload a littke 30sec. video for you from my try of the apple cake!
Do we need to add baking powder to the cake doesn't the cake mix already have baking powder in it?
@ 1.22 you said baking powder 2 1/2 tsps & again @ 1.31 you said 1/2 tsp of baking powder...i'm really confused with the recipe too much baking powder...:P

Glad you made this :)
I used light brown sugar.
Grainy... the only thing that I can think of is that you did not cook it hot enough or to the proper temperature.
Thanks for your questions!

Question. I am not a fan of hard icing. Should I skip out or reduce the icing sugar by a lot to avoid that?

@chrissiemoda
I would like to imagine that you can get a similar "type" of mixer for less.
I would get a food processor before a stand mixer for sure, as I use that more than the mixer.
$700 is ALOT of money, you can get a decent computer for that!

Was the icing too sweet? :( I mean with a cup of powdered sugar, and three cups of brown sugar... that looks like it'd be waaaay too sweet.
I'd still love to make this, but I'm sure it'd be too sweet for me.
Ryuuie 1 year ago
