Now Gomer can't go on a date with a woman because in real life, Gomer is a cocksucker, queer bait, dick licker who lives in Hawaii on an almond farm. He had a liver transplant in the 90's. Funny how many queers there are in Hollywood that tried to act hetrosexual. Jim Nabors as Gomer, Robert Reed of The Brady Bunch and Dick Sargent, the 2nd Darrin of Bewitched. I'd rather them be who they are so I can make a decison as to watch them or not as I don't agree with homosexuality.

Ok, Thelma Lou inherited the home from her parents who passed on. She worked as secretary at an insurance company uptown. Thelma Lou's cousin Mary Grace comes to visit, man is she a dog! That actress who played Mary Grace went on to be a carpenter on GREEN ACRES. And of all the gall, Barney actully charged his own girlfriend to pay the 40 cents for the ice cream and on top of that, he took the dime she gave him for change. What a cheap skate Barney is.

In the episode "Man in the middle" Barney tried to get Helen and Thelma Lou talking and Thelma Lou says she has to get back to the office. That is the only hint i can think of about where she works.

Mary Grace was played by Mary Grace Canfield. She always seemed to play homely or plain looking hags. She is still alive, I think.

In one episode, she says, "I have to get back to the office..." but that's all that was ever said on the subject. She and Helen both have really nice houses, especially since Barney just rents a room...

@endorphinz Thelma Lou's job is never disclosed. As for the house, girls were more likely to live at home, so maybe it's the family house. The parents are either dead or hiding upstairs.

@endorphinz She works in an office probably a secretary. Remember the episode where she is mad at Helen? I think it was called Man in the Middle, when Thelma Lou walks in and sees Helen she tries to leave in a huff and says I got to get back to the office!
