  • Guys if u don't know that's the count 1,2,3...5,6,7 means could be bc u learn salsa from the street. Why Colombians think they are perfect dancers ?? Salsa is not from u guys. The shit u dance is called cumbia and all of u dance we the same steps steping on ants. Look on YouTube and the shit u dance is only in Colomia and colombians. Nobody in the world prefer ur salsa style. Oh I know u are gonna say we are the champions but i want to know wtf the judges are. U still have time to lear.

  • Look Dude, I have been tryin to tell you exactly the same thing that xtremedance10,and diogoalmeidea12345678 and julian165 wrote to you. Do yourself a favor, if you choose to keep posting your so called dance lesson videos. Please do not count.....Develop another method like maybe step, step, step...step, step, step.... or left, right, left,...left, right, left... get off that stupid and confusing 1,2,3.......5,6,7. Counting is an exact sequence and your off,,,,way off.

  • I agree with toques46, WTF. Here we go again with 1,2,3...5,6,7.This guy is a joke....but it's good for the laughs.

  • @mnolivares ohh well, maybe because most of the steps in salsa are three step - steps :/ and im saying this because ive been taught salsa and my dancer taught me the same way ... he went "1,2,3.. 5,6,7" and even sometimes " 5,6,7.. 1,2,3"

  • If you want learn salsa, come to cali, Colombia.. capital of the salsa in the world, in one night you learn. :)

  • what that fuck is that shit ?????? u guys fucking socks

  • @toques46 And u are so polite...

  • hello Im from Cali, I just wanted to say ,,, I dont see that the man (Anthony) is LEADING the way, I mean u guys (Anthony, Melanie) already KNOW what steps are coming, so ur like wasting too much time trying to explain the steps, but not explaining how u can actually IMPROVISE the turns, .....WRIST MOVEMENTS....that'll be something interesting to see.....

  • I think you should stay with this model for most of your presentations, since she has a great style, moves with finesse and besidees she is gorgeous.

Make me want to dance SALSA.

    darkness

  • Salsa for people who will never be able to dance.

  • dobre:)

  • dobre

  • @noinventen

By far the best online dance lessons I have received.. If you really want to learn dancing in an easy and entertaining way, I suggest you try:

    -

    budurl (.) com/idance

  • salsa lessons in Peru? anyone??

  • very bad

  • Afte 0:53 you'r out of rhythm. There are so many beautiful and fantastic moves that can be done from hammerlock-chameleon, they make this video looks boring and not interesting. You demonstrate some cool moves in advance lessons although they are not so difficult and complicated. Sorry if i sound litle aggravating. I really like your work.

  • @julian16s You make me curious, Julian. Which moves do you mean? Please describe them, upload them or give links to examples.

The videos are not meant to impress, but to instruct - and that's what they do very well.

(Although IMHO the second solution presented here doesn't flow nice.)

Also the approach of several solutions on how to continue after a certain start is very interesting.

When some sequence has a nice flow, it gets a habit, and I have to force myself to vary.

  • I'm doing dance classes, it's really good, people who want to dance and dont know how should try it. Feel kinda weird in the beginning, specially for men, but after some classes you know your colleagues and everything goes ok =]

  • you taught me to dance bro...its bullshit people say u cant learn online....it just takes more time...and it takes a lot more merit to learn it on ur own than with an instructor. these videos have great camera angles to help u learn the basics and apply ur own style...thank u so much for having me connect with my latin genes lol

  • Thankyou Love the moves

  • wow! Why is everybody hating? You lazy you-tube droolers... I wanna see all you haters to use your time to put-up free lessons online.

Thank you for these posts addicted2salsa!!

  • i counted the lady's double turn and its not 5-6-7 it's 5-6-7 & 8. there has to always be an & for any double turn. a man should either hold the timing or mimic a step to had an & in it. sorry man, but i am a professional dancer and i am fully educated in timing and half of your videos your not even dancing on 1, your way off. you can get pissed of or tell me that im wrong, but i went to college for this and ive traveled to every latino country and studied dance art.

  • I give you five thumbs up for the videos you do, but it would be a lot better if you just keep dancing IN time, and not in and out like you do 2/3 times just in one minute... 1st) 0:35 (you switched feets, in 0:38, the one time is left foot, not right... you get out before, but that step is the worst, because it is huge)... you get in at 0:45, and the 4 eights betwen are out of time. After that you are always stepping half a time faster (and that is always dancing out of time. Sorry

  • when you stop her from behind, touching her back, it seems that you expect her to give you her hand and does not look clean. When I first saw it I thought it was amistake, o misunderstanding between the dancers.

  • everyone seriously needs to just give this guy a break, he is helping people learn salsa he never said he will teach you how to become a professional salsa dancer relax you youtube thugs

  • Thank you for posting. I have yet to find a salsa club that teaches like this. Very good post!

  • Really appreciate the videos! They've definitely helped me work around the shaky hammerlock i learnt in class.

  • time you left a part of the figure if you want to show please do it well because people think you can dance and is so bad the only thing that can be drawn from this is the figure, but the weather was very bad one hurts.

  • I'm not too sure you realize this, but you accidently fall on2 in the demos...

  • What's the name of the song?

  • @alpho82 Mataron el Negro Bembom by Ismael Rivera but try "Merecumbe, el preso or escombros . those are my favorite ones.

  • very good ideas to change my salsa 70!

    thanks

  • i love your videos, me and the hubby just learned through the intermediate level. you should see him all smiles now lol just built his confidence, because he does not dance ever. so to learn this hes all for it. If he can do it, anyone can, keep em coming

  • Thanks for the video Anthony. My wife and I have learned alot watching your videos. Who love to attend one of your events.

  • very nice dance

  • lol....advance....:-P

  • sooooo, leaving Tiger and back to Salsa. . .thanks for this! The husband perks up and looks interested in dancing because we both love complex spins. :p will go practice now

  • Hi , i noticed that sometimes the steps that you make when u dance are not the same as when u teach....it is quite confusing to learn this way. i must say the combination u do are great and it is unfortunate that it isnt accurate and consistent. if every time you show something else with your feet how can we learn what to do. sorry for the criticism .

  • It's about a feeling. If you try ti learn the steps exactly as he teaches them you'll never laern. You have to make them your's.

Absorve the general idea. Nobody dances the same

  • i ahte L.A. style, people salsa is only one!!! CUBANA!!!!

  • great song... but before step one, you gotta feel the grove enjoy it love it, get into the vibe. if you can't do that then what's the point. then once you have that let the step flow out of you. this is parting having good time, leave the structure for the classroom. find a girl with a nice smile and learn as you go.

  • An angry wife is a roaring lion, as Tiger Woods must have experienced it first hand.

He is lucky. In Thailand, enraged wives have been known for cutting off the offending digit

  • thanx i was looking for men fighting but i guess this is better

  • Agreed. That's why I carry on dancing.

My uncle exited this world to the next doing what he loved best, on the golf course, in the arms of her wife. He even managed a smirk. A quick and natural death by delight.

I intend to follow such good family tradition, save the last dance with the woman I love.

I hope to best the tradition with a smile.

That way, they will know for sure I would have gone to Salsa heaven, if not Heaven itself.

So I totter on, like a good soldier should

  • hahaha on that note: "tiger" woods almost departed the world doing what he loved best, too ... philandering around on his wife and innocent children, resulting in a beating by a very expensive golf club wielded by his loyal and loving wife LOL Almost a poetic ending, complete with unseemly and cowardly fleeing for his life like some loser in an episode of "cops", but pathetically he lived through it to cheat another day. Maybe they should review his scorecards for other lies

  • im not replying to any certain person here... i just wanted to comment to the instructor that even though you may do some steps off beat ( not that i know, just repeating what other comments say)... i have never had any problems in salsa clubs, leading ladies. I love your variations... I use them all.

  • Thanks. I am inspired. I have had my ration of two strokes too and on the way to going towards the 70 marks if I am allowed more years to live.

As I said, life is short. I would count it as joy if one day, my next dance should prove my last dance and carry me to cross over into the next life.

  • Salsa is not for people who had suffered strokes. But hey, life is short. I will take the risks. Command performance and let the music begins.

  • Allow me to disagree My dad having 70 years old and two strokes every time he hears music (salsa), on parties, let me assure you he WILL dance even for 5 minutes but he will. I do not know where he gets the energy, believe me

  • Who is to say salsa is not for people who have had strokes? Assuming doctors have given the ok for the physical demands, music can be very therapeutic. I would say go for it!

  • Anthony, the 'bonus' move on 0:45 is also nice - a pity you didn't explain that one. Maybe in a next video? Also the concept 'getting out of' (double-handed turns, hammerlocks) is inspiring and helpful to escape from the same patterns over and over again.

Looking out for your next (on1 please) video.

  • the second last move is a nice way to enter the off beat

  • Comment removed

  • thanks for the nice videos... can you suggest salsa music or song titles i can find in itunes? i wanna practice your moves but i don't have the music i hope you could help... or anybody.

    thanks again!

  • i would suggest marc anthony, im pretty sure you will easily find his songs in itunes, and they are really good for dancing xD

  • jejejejej

  • what song is this?

  • "El Negro Bembon" - Ismael Rivera

  • thanks :)

  • lend me the girl,,,,,and i'm sure I ca do it.

  • Thanks Anthony (and partners) - some really nice combinations that complement many moves in my existing Salsa repetoire. These are some of my favourite Salsa lessons on Youtube.

  • You guys have to realize that a guy is the most important part of salsa dancing. They lead, guide and make the woman look as good as she does dancing. He's the one who decides all of the moves. Face it...It's Hott!

  • Yes. Girls think it's very attractive when a man knows how to dance. Especially ballroom stuff.

  • To lilasdflil and any other guy who thinks they are too masculine to do salsa - myself and a lot of girls think that there is something very masculine in a guy knowing how to treat a girl with respect, how to hold her so she feels safe and beautiful, and how to take her on a journey where she is the focus and his job is to make her feel strong and gorgeous. My favourite guys to dance Latin with show these things, and they are some of the most masculine men around.

  • thwe can discuss how it looks like, but....the girls love salsa dancers :)

  • call it gay if you want but i went out last night to a salsa spot and there were 4 girls to 1 guy... i got 4 numbers.. they asked me... just a testimony lol

  • no i agree im not saying u wont get girls i wish i knew how to salsa just for the girls but im saying and please dont lie without a doubt i and any other guy looks gay doing it, dont mean im hating im just being honest. but hey im willing to learn just for the girls its just im too masculine im into the hardcore metal and rock genre and dancing like that or even in general dancing makes me feel silly

  • What is it called when you do not dance as a couple, but one and one?

  • Dancing is with ur heart not with ur mind, give me a breakkkkk!!

  • sorry to say when learning to be great lead it is with your mind. otherwises your a limited salsa lead. once you become a great lead technically then you can become one with the music in your heart. you can stay on beat and just have fun however you probably won't grow much as a dancer. dont measure yourself against others when doing so just be best lead you can be through knowledge and practice. salsa proficincy takes time.

  • explained in detail and very clear!

  • sorry but this is only work of memory... you'd work also of movments and energy but however good

  • zon cassé la tete a gaston

  • what's the name of that song?

  • El Negro Bembon by Ismael Rivera ;)

  • I think the lag 4 beats in the second hammer lock combo.

  • Wey men mu sabroson s star pa ti

  • Dude your videos are very helpful!! thnx!!

  • L.A style > is nice to see the way woman dance

    is really sexy-feminine.

but is to technical about those one two three - five six seven count, Ladies and gentleman we have to move our body, Salsa is like swim, when you swim you move all your body, well Salsa is like, foot and leg as mark the rhythm, waist and arms will follow the foot and leg rhythm, finally shoulder goes opposed of your regular body rhythms. do it, you'll feel the different, your body will like it ;-)

    Saludos.

  • All of your videos are so so helpful! thank you for uploading, I'll keep watching!

  • nice moves!! hey does anyone know what the name of that song is that they are dancing to?

  • Negro Bembon-Ismael Rivera

Celia cruz did a great cover of it as well.

  • celia's tributr cd to ismael R is very good. its been rereleased by fania. lots good songs for dancing.

  • These videos are fantastic for people of all levels. There is nothing worse than forgetting moves or becoming rusty, and Apersaud here is providing a free service that is invaluable: keeping our memories fresh by recording it!

  • I apologize, my comment sounded condescending and I did not mean it that way. I think you guys actually look very nice and I totally respect you guys for making these vids and sharing them with the world...Que viva la Salsa! Keep up the good work.....

  • Please don't call these "advanced moves" you might give people the impression that these are actually "advanced"....Great for beginners and intermediate.

  • The word "advanced" here is subjective since a early beginner seeing these moves will consider them advance, while someone else might consider them basic. We hope someone can come up with a standard salsa syllabus for the world. You should start one! :-)

  • @apersaud awesome response

  • @malditoklee AT BEST ADVANCE BIGINNERS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • anthony got good series of salsa lessons but to learn excellent salsa u might learn it with an instructor not at internet!

  • These are not to be used as a replacement for class lessons, just as an encyclopedia should not be a replacement for a real university education. We consider our videos as helpful reference material to supplement class information. Think of it as 'salsa textbooks'.

  • We'd also like to provide salsa lessons to places where professional salsa instructors are not currently available and when students who are interested in salsa may not be able to afford salsa lessons - just as not everyone can afford tuition at a university - however, that should not impede them from wanting to learn.

  • And great work you do!

  • @apersaud antohny this classes are great for me,repeating, with withoutmusic, very clear. 123...567...

  • @apersaud students at universities get scholarships do your instructors?

  • the series of your videos are great

  • a silly question but how can we end up at the other position of the hammer lock at 1:44?

    tnx

  • to end up at the other position u must know the next step move, the next step move after the HammerLock is the CopaMove, now the connection between HL and CM is the back step or back break, then pull a little bit the girl to towards you and the back of the girl is going to be in front of u and u stop her.

  • These are the best videos and instructions I have ever seen on the web. I love you guys and I hope you keep up the good work. You are inspiring, and are making people fall in love with salsa, causing the interest and business to boom.

  • u guys make these moves look great!

  • very helpful. thanx my dude. by the way shes beautiful.!!!!

  • What is the name of this song

  • yeah what is it :o

  • The name of this song is "El Negro Bembon".

  • Ladies "do you have a good frame" he says that 5 times in every video! lol

  • Awesome video!!! Thank you for your excellent teaching abilities! Great job

  • The name of the song is "Negro bembon" by Ismael Rivera.

  • 'Awesome' is all I have to say!

  • nice ^^

  • wat song is that???

  • there was a different move at the end of the demo at the start no? But on the breakdown you showed a simpler move instead..?

  • What is the name of song?

  • It's not so difficult Tito Edrak, you have to swing both your arms (and those of your partner) like a see-saw as soon as you step back to back, to make sure your right arm is up before your breast and head, then swing that arm over the lady's head while you turn towards her and that's it! About you wanting to impress your girlfriend however, hmmm?

  • I look at the video at home and try to remember them and teach my partner in my class. But of coarse its a little harder cuz i dont have a computer running. But i was concerned if you have a dance class where you actually teach people to dance salsa or do you just do it for the internet? I really want to get a lot better at dancing salsa. I live in Los Angeles CA. If you do teach salsa lessons, id like to know where you do so? Thanks. Hugo.

  • I have recently enrolled to a Salsa class in my local community college. I searched for some new and different tips on youtube and i found your salsa dance episodes. I got to say, they are really good. I mean they are great and i would like to learn.

  • guys, you are just great!

  • chingon

  • I watched it again and I owe masterbry an apology... I see what you mean. I totally misunderstood what you were saying. You're right, the count is different-- but no biggie.

  • Apersaud, thanks for posting!! These are great! (masterbry, if he is teaching without music, the count is not that big of a deal! You can dance the same steps on 1, 2... or even 3 if you really wanted to!)

  • Nice... but the second combination you demonstrate with the music is different from the way you teach the combination at the end of the video. You are dancing on "1" and break down the second combination to the steps properly.

However when you are dancing the second combination to the music, you end up on "5" not on "1". Just wanted to note this as it may be confusing to follow these instructional videos if you switch from dancing on "1" to dancing on "5".

  • thank you so much anthony for these videos..nice dance..

  • very clear instruction, thanks a lot
