OK, so I made a Google account with a yahoo username a few years ago. My YouTube account is on it too. But now I made a Google+ profile and got a new Gmail address, so now I basically have two Google accounts I have to switch back and forth to make both Google+ and YouTube work. Since this didn't work, my question is: could I terminate my old (Yahoo mail) account and still keep this username? What would happen to my YouTube account if I were to delete that old Google account? Thanks in advance.

@sunshine7018c It appears there's no alternative but to use each account on a different browser and then use them separately. That's what I'm doing. Sure it's annoying but it's the only way.

This still works. However, it won't let you sign in without linking anymore. The only way I know of is to sign in on an older iPhone/iPod touch. My account is actually unlinked,and yet I can still leave this comment. :P

thank you SO much, I've been bummed for the past 4 or 5 months because youtube stopped sending my comment emails to my gmail, but instead reverted to my old hotmail, and I couldn't get it to go back to sending to my gmail, which was a pain because I can check my gmail in the mail app on my phone and delete it and it will delete entirely, but with hotmail it just deleted from my phone and kept a copy in my actual hotmail account, so I had to delete twice, this is WAY better, thanks a million man.
