  • An old fav of mine and one I sang way back in the clubs when few ever heard it.

  • A GREAT song!.....and YOU Irish immigants!

  • @lanetemple immigrants? are you a native american to say that then :) ;P :) Lakota?

  • My great Uncle was lost on a fishing boat out of Burtonport, Co Donegal... Brave men... many who never even learnt how to swim!!!

  • Brilliant tune

heres to all that have been lost around Donegal

    God bless them all

  • I can not make enough accounts here to express how much I love this song and their music...damn!!

  • The song speaks for all the sailors that lost their life at sea... You idiots that want to "express" any other view (unless you are a sailor) have nothing to say but "Aye!".

  • @DannyDad208 Aye!!

  • My Granda was From the County of Donegal

been there many times this song make me think of him :-)

  • Always makes me proud to be irish. We live in difficult times but we can never forget what makes us who we are. Erin Abu!

  • this song always getts me me

  • Great song

  • R.I.P. to all these fine men who lost their lives at sea. You might be gone, but you will never be forgotten. May your souls be blessed.

  • ist sone musi nicht schoen?kraftvoll, ehrlich mit volkgefuehl...

  • IRISH QUEING FOR 7YRS LOSE OUT TO IMMIGRANTS

From Nov 09 to March 2010, out of 19 council houses, allocated by Tralee council 11 went to immigrants. Many Irish people are on the housing waiting list, some waiting for 7yrs, and the houses are going to foreigners.

    Kerryman 14/4/10

This at a time when Irish children in care are being moved around in different care homes and B&B's. Some of these kids have been abused and committed suicide - they would greatly benefit from a secure council house.

  • @waaeaa Alright, that's just plain dumb... How in heavens name can an Irishman speak ill of immigration! You damn near invented the thing, Christ!....

  • @NorseWinter

Wrong. We went to the US, a european made entity, like all other Europeans. We were sent to Oz against our will as convicts, we went to Britain the source of our economic and famine problems, we had every right to, they governed us. We did not go to Africa or arabia or pakistan. In fact Ireland has educated and gievn medical aid to africa since the 1900s, we have given the most per capita in the world in aid to Africa, we owe Africa nothing, if anything they owe us.

  • @waaeaa I thought the majority of immigrants in Ireland were poles and czechs? Anyway I acknowledge your point. I was merely trying to point to the irony of the world, I can however see it wasn't done especially elegant, I'd be the first to admit to that.

  • @NorseWinter

Fair enough, if you can admit when the facts say different and not run away from fact. It is a totally different thing to compare Europeans who have similar cultures and mindset, to completely alien cultures from Africa and arabia and pakistan who have nothing to do with in any way. Yes there are very large amount of poles etc, And the numbers should be decreased A lot. But I much rather poles and other europeans to non-europeans, who think and act totally different to us

So they must be friends. And as a friend I will tell you - our forces will ever be with you! Dont be afraid and go your own way - our loyal men will fihgt beside you! God bless the Irish!

  • I love ireland! this is a good song!...

  • a left handed screwdriver? thats a really interesting choice of words. whats about a right handed screwdriver? surly there are left handed Irishmen? and why do you dislike them? what is your reasoning, your logic behind your opinion? youve only told us your opinion of them job wise. are you saying that all Irishmen are not smart enough to do any other job aside from manual labor, aside from using a left handed screwdriver that is? what exactly are you implying, my racist pig of a friend?

  • there's no such as a left handed screwdriver idiot! hahahahaha

I'm Scots-Irish American, and I'm on the dole.. or at least the closest we've got stateside. it's so true

  • -_- i know. i was just taking something the dude said and neutrally questioning it. this interests someone without scaring them off or getting bored with it. its something you do to make people read your comments all the way through.

  • Hell of a way to make a living, even today.
