TM express their 9inch smile for this unifi. while last time, using 1mb streamyx watching youtube at 360p smooth no buffer.

now, since unifi launched, increased unifi customer, watching youtube on streamyx user noticeably affected with slow down. even watching 240p video. TM seems didnt conserve their bandwith for streamyx user.

even though unifi vip5 price cheaper than 2mb streamyx , some area were still not covered with unifi coverage yet. maybe this is sort of dirty way to promote unifi.

You cant use youtube to test ur speed. use server like hotfile or fileserve with premium account. cant rely on youtube server.

well actually it depends. if u streaming a lot or watch video online alot, test with youtube or any other video hosting is ok.

if u download files alot or torrenting much, test with hotfile or torrent also ok.

@KhaiWilliam619 first make sure ur computer is running normally and healthy (eg: no viruses etc). then if u're using wireless, try to use cable. sometime wireless may have interference.

cable length also effects speed. try use shorter cable than longer ones.

if it doesn't speed up, maybe the ur distance to the TM switch box outside ur house is far.

there are many things u need to check to ensure full speed of ur connection.

u'd like to call Unifi Centre because they sure have d advices.

@KhaiWilliam619 u don't have any antivirus installed? that is not good. ur computer might been infected by viruses thus decrease your internet speed (well u know backdoors can use ur bandwidth).

other factors can be like if there is other user using ur router, or maybe weather condition... there are many things can effect ur speed.

TM switch box.. erm.. idk what it is called. but usually they are locatd on the telephne pole.

like at my house, the box is on the telephone pole behind my house.

dalam gambar di dalam website unifi.my, mereka ada letak tanda * dan mengatakan cap limit masih belum di implement.

kerana masa mula2 launch tahun lepas, ramai org complain pasal cap limit, jadi TM pun terpaksa akur dgn pelanggan, dan mereka gantung dulu cap limit ni.

Adik2, abg2 aku pun pakai skali dlm satu masa. Sorg youtube, sorg torrent, sorg rs, sorg itu sorg ini. Tu yg upgrade kpd unifi.

Ni pun tgh fikir2 lg nak upgrade ke tak, sbb alang2 masing2 dah bekerja kan, boleh la tong2 sorang rm50 da leh dpt 20Mbps..

cuma yg bezanya, pakej yg diorg bagi.. bergantung kpd ISP msing2..

about lag, misal kata ramai org subscribe/online unifi than maxis, maybe line unifi akan lag skit dari maxis, sbb fair usage yg dikenakan.

Unifi is still new in Malaysia. That's why the price is a bit expensive.

U know what was a SIM card costs when it still new in Malaysia in the 90's?

Expensive right? And so Unifi.

I bet the payment will reduce if there's more competitors serving HSBB in Malaysia.

@nathanlixkin I do have Streamyx 4Mb and I compared the speed, highest download I could get with Streamyx 4Mb was around 450kB/s and never reached fullspeed, whilst the upload speed was around 50kB/s.

But the Unifi 5Mb i use however, reaches fullspeed almost all time and sometimes even higher.

Both download and upload have the same speed = 5Mb for each.

And Unifi uses optic cable, Streamyx uses copper.
