I don't get it. The guy who made this song was a Muslim and it is a beautiful song. I am all for culturally and religious sensitivity but I do not get why Muslims would be offended in this case. Then again I am not Muslim so that may be why I do not understand.

Considering that Diabate is Muslim, I don't really see a reason for yanking the song. Wouldn't its inclusion only anger extremists/fundamentalists? How many hardliners would be playing Little Big Planet?

It would have been an insult to some people. You hardly ever get any "Christian" music (since they consider this muslim) in a video game. Also, what verse is this of? He is just using it as a prologue to his song, hell if someone didn't know about the qu'ran, he would still want to get the jist about the song just before he starts singing it, because it is after all, about his brother and the memories they share. Now if someone were to make a song with the Qur'an in mind, and people finally start following in the belief, that means they would need music to follow the way of life as a muslim... that is wrong.

keep religion out of games thats all.There are a quarter of the worlds population who are muslims, there are more muslims than athiests. If this offends them, then take it out. Whats the deal? Why start this controversy anyway, if you know muslims are going to feel offended.
I understand the concept of having faith in youre religion in the face of adversity, yet there is no need whatsoever to stir up controversy for no apparent reason, especially with something as trivial as a game.

Tsk....I just rememberer that almost the same thing happened with Zelda OOT in the N64, Nintendo censored the Quoran lyrics of The Fire Temple song and some Muslm signs in the first version of the game,and that version was the most badass......
and now almost happened the same thing with LBP, it would had been better this song instead the censored one, this song with lyrics sounds better.....

In little big planet the world is about creativity and imagination .yes this is a religious song.but you shouldn't be offended. there god/gods are just as real as our god/gods.the little big planet should be aloud to express beliefs without being banned or hated for it.we all live in this world we must learn to make it work.

You know that those phrases are just short for the real thing.. How ever I did write apinion instead of opinion and Atheist instead of Athiest.. Just to clear things up, Sony removed the words to the song only to play it safe. It was not in response to any outrage, jihad, crusades, pogroms, hijackings, or beheadings. If your company made exploding laptop batteries you would play it safe too.

i am a muslim and i really like this song. the arabic words he says are "every soul shall taste death" that is a beutiful phrase from the quran. but the only reason why they removed it is because we believe that the words of god cannot be put in tune, we did not go crazy about the lyrics of the song but the company said to prevent any religious hate. so i thank media molecule for that.

I would be offended too if this was released in the game. But only because the instrumental version we have now is way better. It fits better with the entire platforming thing, and it is background music now, just as it is supposed to be.

I've seen translations of the entire song, there really isnt anything offensive in it whatsoever. I think the problem is, some form of muslum group complained it was offensive and made threats due to the lyrics in the song. This is why religion needs to die, it creates too much oppression and censorship, without any reward. They offended a terrorist group and got scared so they took the words out.

Amazing song, and i don't think that this song in of itself in offensive at all but putting the words of the qu'ran, a sacred text, in a video game or anything for that matter like a t-shirt, bumper sticker, hat, etc. is what can be offensive to some. just like how religious people should keep an open mind, you should see their perspective and see why they might possibly be offended. sony handled this wrong though, they shouldn't have delayed it. should've done something else to remove the words

Its really not that it is not bad way, but Muslims believe that God or his book should not be in anyway associated to music. Someone might think thats odd, but look at it this way. See the problem is, the song isn't about the Quran. He is just using it as a prologue to his song, hell if someone didn't know about the qu'ran, he would still want to get the jist about the song just before he starts singing it, because it is after all, about his brother and the memories they share. Now if someone were to make a song with the Qur'an in mind, and people finally start following in the belief, that means they would need music to follow the way of life as a muslim... that is wrong.
