What's pissing me off most is that everyone's saying Beck ruined it somehow, but this isn't Beck's song! Neither are Pink Moon or Parasite. Beck and Nick Drake are two of the best artists the world will ever hear, but they're not the same. I'm sure Nick Drake wouldn't do a great Beck tune like "Think I'm In Love" or "We Live Again" as good as Beck does.

But I'm sure he'd release a worthy effort, and I'm sure no one would bash them. Beck did a lovely job here.

I'm not sure what this adds to the song. As effectively a straight cover, it doesn't do enough to pass beyond the long shadow of the original and find its own voice. Beck is a truly gifted artist, but I tend to think this song is pure fandom on display, and should be approached as such.

i agree, it's a simple cover which is really pleasant to listen to because of beck's voice and instrumentalism. and nah, i'm actually listening to glenn gould play mozart's piano sonatas, i don't feel the need to be a pretentious cock about it, though.

It takes an incredible talent to even attempt to cover one of Nick Drakes song, let alone add your own style. Another magnificent interpretation of his music by Beck. Brilliant!
