I really missed to hear plattdütsch. It reminds me the time when I used to work for the Hamburg Süd office in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in the early eighties. The seamen used to speak like this on board the Santa Fe, the Cap San Antonio, etc... Also, there are german families in Rio Grande do Sul state who still speak it at home, after over 150 years in Brazil...
It reminds me a little bit of Dutch sometimes...
But that's logically of course, these languages have the same roots
