  • hang in there bro, even though you are a constant source of irritation to the good Lord, he loves ya and he's pulling for you too, I'm a fellow alcoholic too, but, amazingly, through divine intervention and grim determination, I was able to turn my situation around

  • If you haven't seen JMV in Big Wednesday, you have missed a wonderful movie.

  • Just a retraction of my prior post saying he is on Facebook ! Sadly it is not him :(

  • which year was this interview?

  • I am glad he is on facebook now :)

  • Lindsey Lohan must have gone to the Same acting school? Same results....

  • @WALTERBROADDUS its called, the hollywood vultures school of acting where if you have the looks they will just give you rolls, you dont have to audtition, but if you party drink, do drugs, sleep around, they will just keep giving you rolls and telling you eabutiful you look until of course , you go over the edge of sanity, but they WILL make money off of you.

  • @22centman36 .....that was a good summery you wrote about hollywood vultures

  • I don't care WHAT sin or flaw one is fighting, EVERY ONE falls down and has to get up. I respect this man for continuing to fight to stay sober, and I pray he has the best of success in the future. My prayers are with him and all of his family. God bless them. I also wish him professional success as well.

  • @HammerDoc a thumbs up. amen to that man.

  • Daughter is pretty and attractive..should clean up his life for his daughter and family, if not for himself.

  • loved that guy! what a sad story and waste. hope he found his way and is enjoying the latter half of his life now!

  • then he agreed he had used cocaine too and more recent interview he vehemently denied ever using anything but alcohol. Brainz goin'~!

  • jan.. JESUS came to save and change lifes and I He loves you,if you give you heart to JESUCHRIST,He´ll change your life.

  • @apocalipsis2968 LOL at your comment.

  • my brother ended his life..at 56.....just like JMV is doing now...a ruined life down the drain.

  • Comment removed

  • "I'm hanging on by my knuckles" He must have been off his bean during this interview too.

  • Amber is pretty, intelligent, and well-spoken. Most importantly, she also seems to be a caring person. God bless her.

  • it is so sad to see such amazing actor fall so hard.

  • He has that old drunk look about him that you'd see in the gutter on the streets .sad

  • Very sad. I wish him well

  • He's an old man ... nothing to do with the devil's water or the devil's weed ... the guy is almost 70 ... time to retire from 'old-age-hating' Hollywood!

  • He can work again and still has allot of spirit. Give him a break-a big break.

The hollywood scene has never been easy in the long run-

  • God bless Jan Michael Vincent. He is a great actor. Alcohol and other drugs have messed up a lot of people, but a lot of people have overcome the problem, too. Here's hoping that Jan Michael triumphs over addiction.

  • JMV is the man!!

  • A true artist.........piss artist ! lololol

  • This is sad to watch for me and I've seen enough. I pray he goes on a spiritual pilgrimage to find his inner self and come to terms with his demons. That's the only way I know that would help him overcome his drinking addiction.

  • Drugs fuck a entire career !!!

  • Man this is sad :( I used to watch his shows and movies. I had no idea he wound up like this :(

It looks like he's got a family who loves and cares for him though. Sometimes that's all there is left in life. I also hope he's doing better today :)

  • Man, talk about a fall from grace. Jan had it all, and he coked and drank it down the drain. I don't know how old this clip is, but I hope he stays both clean and sober.

  • People can change, sometimes it takes a event that affects the heart to turn you around. I should know, Back in 1985 I messed up. In the end I lost the first gal I ever truely loved. For the first time I hurt myself too. It was then I promised myself to not ever end up like that again, and to this day I haven't. He just has to know that people care. I have always been a fan of JMV. My best goes out to him. I am one fan you will never lose, I understand more then you know.

  • @xtremepayne True that brother I can relate with that..I have lost things for stupid reasons..and I didn't care. It's not when I got older I look back and say I shouldn't have done that. A good actor. Still brings back memories growing watching Airwolf and I would jump up and down when the intro came.

  • @CanineFaeces (Warning this is a translation with foul language for equalization purposes only): Now to the poster :You are the kind of spirit that needs to get the fuck out of his hair and ours! Your blabbering is just another curse poured out upon the masses! You are an empty soul, a pawn of a cursor and you have no power over yourself. Wait, for someone to have compassion on you. You obviously cry out for help. Someone will hear you too and help you. In the meantime keep quiet!

  • If you watch his earliest roles such as in Quincy medical examiner, he always plays a kid messed up on alcohol.

  • @fattony252 he didnt play that on bonanza

  • The jerk interviewing him this was prolly his biggest moment.

  • He's about the same age with Stallone and Arnold, who knows what this guy could have become today if he's never an alcoholic :\

is there any recent news about him?

  • Good actor.......and a great wife beater.

  • @ekocentric, yea its sad how these idiots try to make themselves look better by asking the actor a stupid ass question. JMV gets a little down on his luck and the idiot thinks it open season. I'd like to get he and his family on camera and start asking about their sex life just to see him squirm! I'd like to see JMV get back into acting. He's still beloved by many!

  • ohhhhhhhh yeah, she looks like him (daughter i mean).

  • Hollywood does not give a shit about him! They just pretend, so they can feel good about them self, when they go to sleep at night. The live by the code "What can you do for me, today"

I hope he gets set free from his addiction to alcohol. like most people your not a drug addict, cause you do drugs. they do it cause its in the heart.

The guy had a car wreck an almost killed him, and broke his neck. I would be thanking God, I could walk and talk! even if its sounds strange. still a good actor

  • @WizzRacing I couldn't have said it better.

  • the interviewer is a real A-hole. That clown doesn't have half the talent JMV does!

  • @txredneckcop Have you noticed that the members of the press practice their rights to go through movie stars trash (which is considered public property), they can hide outside those people's homes and photograph the actor's friends and family? Have you ever seen any of their family members or friends?

  • I only really saw this guy in "Big Wednesday". I loved the film, and Jan Michael was inspiring. We all fall over, in our own ways and in our own time. God Bless you Jan.

  • He looks a lot better now than he did a few years ago. His mind is a much clearer. Wish him the best...

  • All hail Jan Michael Vincent! I have always liked his show, Airwolf, but I never get the opportunity to watch all of them.

  • This must have been a while ago. Today you can`t even understand him when he talks and seems to have no memory at all, like someone who had a massive stroke.

  • Still loving ya!

  • He is a good dude, peace.

  • you still are my most favorite actor...come what may you'll forever stay in my heart & that ur one of hollywoods greatest actors ever ,.,,do take care ...we are still here loving you!!!!!

  • PRAY 4 US WITH

    THIS "DISEASE".

  • Watch this newer video..... Man, that is so sad that he did this to himself.

    youtube /watch?v=daMTWhN2UDk

  • Watch this video..... Man, that is SO SAD. The poor guy destroyed himself.

    watch?v=daMTWhN2UDk

  • i think he looks pretty good. he looks younger than he did about 3-4 years ago. this guy was one of my heros when i was growing up and watching airwolf. i wish you well jan. take it one day at a time brother.

  • @adamh0075 I agree ..... he is looking better and better, and your advice is so true.....take it one day at a time. I am sure he has worked very hard to pull himself back up. God be with you, Jan.

  • As an actor in Hollywood now, it pains me to watch these interviews but is such a good lesson to learn in all of our lives. As a leading man there comes a "stereotype" of what and how you should conduct yourself early in your career. Babes, boos, and brawls so to speak. The reality is no one wants to have that kind of life. I pray that he continues to seek sobriety and happiness in his life.

Choose the road less traveled and you just might catch your star.

    God Bless

  • It's ironic that his charecter in Big Wendsday had the same problem. I wish you the best Jan. Stay alive brother.

  • @Earthmon

    That's coincidence not irony.

  • very sad

  • fortunately for me....the experiences in my youth with booze and "the other stuff" was so bad that I learned my lesson well.....it just isnt worth the puking or the paranoia

  • Oh, I am so happy he cleaned up. He looks fantastic!

    Warmly,

    I am Rosebud

  • Considering what he has gone through, he doesn't look too bad for 60 something. It's never too late to make a come back.

  • I think he looks a bit like Tom Cruise.

  • Drugs+Booze = The most stupid combination EVER

  • Growing up, this guy was my hero. He still is. It's sad seeing him as an old man, but he's still great.

  • @puppysayswoof

he was my hero aswell, it is not sad seeing him going old but it is sad to see him wasting his life with alcohol and cocaine and other drugs.

  • I would LOVE to hear Charles Bronson stories. He never mentions him in any interviews that I have seen. Not that I have seen them all. I just wonder how well they got on behind the scenes or was it all just work.

  • I loved "The Mechanic". They just don't make actors like Bronson, Karl Malden, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman (who else?) anymore. RIP and thanks for the memories.

  • A VERY FINE ACTOR

  • i'd love to hear some of his Mitchum and John Wayne stories, some Ernie Borgnine anecdotes, I remember going to see The Baby Blue marine at the theater one afternoon when I was a kid, I loved, still love The mechanic, great movie

  • His daughter's face lights up like his.

  • Yeah she has his facial shape.

when was this? this may have been from 10 years ago or so because I heard that ricky martin song in the backround and that was played a lot in 98'-99'.

  • Actually, Jan-Michael Vincent has done something that Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson were not able to do: stay alive.

  • He's still got that great hair, doesn't he?

Vincent could make a steady comeback

in mature roles like Tommy Lee Jones.

We'd all love to see him in movies or on

TV again, raspy voice, wrinkles and all!

  • Oh please, he is an old man now. How can people compare him to the way he was in the 70s? He's in his 60s now. I'd like to see how all of you will look in your 60s or if you even make it to that age. In the Insider interview he was 64. He did'nt look great but there are lots of non-drinkers that look much worse at that age.

  • wish him well.

  • As a truck driver he will always be carol jo hummer to me and white line fever will always be the number one trucker movie!

  • I feel so sorry for him. My father died of Cirrhosis 24 years ago.

  • people with glass stones shouldn't throw houses

  • We all have our failings in life. We shouldnt judge people that we dont know. We only hear things from the media, like this interview, the media has alot to do with people falling from Grace and not just famous people either.

  • People that live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.

  • Listen to what she says at 1:51. WTF is an "air-woof"?

  • WTF? Are you fucking kidding?

  • I listened closely and she clearly says AirWOLF.

  • Tragic. Alcoholism is terrible disease.

    Stay strong Mr. Vincent.

  • I believe in you JMV.....

Get and stay sober =). We miss you

  • Maybe Quentin can restore his career

  • Career? Wouldn't it be nice if the poor guy could straighten out himself and be happy? You sound selfish, Why do you think he gives a fuck about his career? His LIFE is in jeopardy.

  • Sometimes a good comeback can do wonders. I think it would only help him.

  • His daughter should get into acting.

  • i hope he finds his brother Saint John. I miss Airwolf.

  • alcohol takes away your life, fades your love of life,i feel for the rich and the poor.if any young one was to listen to me i would say....dont EVER let it touch your lips....its a lie that thirst for your soul,,do not believe anything it trys to tell you.please dont

  • Somebody told me that they saw him in MIssissippi working as a security guard

  • damn this breaks my heart but he well always be string fellow hawk

  • Back then a lot of actors were usually blackballed and could not find work (Lauren Tewes lost her job on Love Boat because of cocaine addiction). It is strange that it is more accepted today (Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, Robert Downey Jr., Lindsay Lohan etc.) These people have been in trouble with the law more than once and they keep coming back.

What about Mickey Rourke? Mickey's big break comeback was "Sin City" and other movies. Last year he did "The Wrestler" which the critics praised.

  • they keep comming back because of the two faced society we live in.nobody really cares about REAL life´s!people, MANY people only care about fancy SHIT!just take a look where some people´s channel´s end.i´ve seen many womens here (just an example) which started with normal video´s and once they reached a TON of views, they turned into fancy and superficial sluts!but LUCKYLY we still have good people in this world.

  • Why the name calling? Lets be mature and respect all views. The American Medical Assoscaiton said addiction a disease in 1956; insurance companies agree.

  • Why is this ten minute interview chopped into 5 two minute clips?

  • I don't feel one bit sorry for this guy. He had what many people can only dream of. He was one of the very luck few in our society who became a star and he had it all. A great job, money, a good family and he chose to throw it down the tubes over booze. Maybe if he wan't coddled from the beginning and told that he had a "disease" he may have pulled himself together. What a total waste, what a loser.

  • and for this one one BIG THUMBS DOWN!

  • Lamentável. Mas enquanto há vida, há esperança.

  • I completely hate how fickle people can be. When an actor is making them money, they are completely on bored with him but as soon as he has a problem, they don`t want to know. Shame on them!

  • this is so sad ,poor guy

  • His sad saga just breaks my heart. He was the Brad Pitt of his day. So gorgeous, so talented.

    When did this 20/20 air?

  • Yes my friend Jan Micheal Vincent was great in "The Mechanic" he was a 27 year old cocky kid then . Had the loooks the money and the talent. What happened?

  • THIS MAN IS A REALLY TALENTED ACTOR!!!

  • @patarenast Was... was. B-(

  • Key word: WAS

  • A talented man, he is. it's a shame he turned into such a loon.

  • SCHADENFREUDE, anyone?

  • Yeah, I've seen the Insider Clip on Youtube here and he's not doing so well! Pitty really.

  • Did he ever go back to drinking after this interview, and is he drinking now?

  • Unfortunately, his 2007 interview on INSIDER is 100 times worse than this one. The poor guy is a wreck. It's on youtube too.

  • Yup. I just watched the 2007 one. With my fist in my mouth. OH MY GOD. Poor, poor guy.

  • It's very sad to see how alcohol has changed a once handsome leading man into a shaddow of his former self.

Rent a copy of "The Mechanic" with Jan opposite Charles Bronsom from the 70's, you'll see what I mean.

Best of luck to the man.

  • Alcoholism is a behavior. Change your behavior, change your life............

    F/AA

  • I adore Jan Michael...

  • we love you Jan Michael Vincent

  • "the world at his feet"...what bullshit.

you might aswell put plumbers or builders on a pedestal as actors. is he supposed to be the "airwolf guy" to please everybody? he suffered 2 car accidents & has a problem with drugs, how do you expect him to be? he's no worse than the next alcoholic.

  • This is not sad, this is the story of a man who is fighting for his life right now.

This is the story of a man with problems with alcohol but I always will remember him like STRINGFELLOW HAWK.

God bless you Jan Michael Vincent

  • Jan michael vincent , man so sad to watch ii loved his movies!! HOOPER W/burt renoylds, Defiance, airwolf! Respect to you man, its been a rough road!

  • He was great in Big Wednesday

  • What ignorance-the commentator said he"threw it all away." Oh yes he woke up one morning and said I think I will ruin my career and my life--fun fun fun. ALcoholsim is a progressive chronic life threatening DISEASE.

  • you´re a disrespectful Asshole!

and parent´s like yours with NO knoweledge in "how to raise a kid properly" shouldn´t give birth at all!

  • Fuck these cocksucker bloodsucking interviewers, leave the guy alone, they're only trying to make a buck on this man. He is a human being with real life problems.

  • From a fellow stepper: One day at a time, my friend. One day at a time. Easy does it, J-M V.!

  • How many Vicodin should I take before the Grammy's.

  • At least he was honest when he said he was hanging on by white knuckles. Couldn't have been long after this interview he fell off the wagon again. The saddest story in recent Hollywood-history, what a tragedy :/

  • Such a shame - he was so gorgeous in his heydays

  • It's like he looked 18 most of his life.....then poof, he's an old man!!

  • How has mike been getting by in Hollywood not working much ???

  • What is he doing now?

  • I was actually watching an episode of "The Banana Splits" (with JMV in his "Danger ISland" role) in the background when I was clicking this link. I know it's been a fourty year time span, but.......whoah!

  • sad...he reminds me of my alcoholic grandpa -- same gaunt face with shriveled up nose and broken capillaries, same ghost eyes and raspy voice. alcohol is like a slow death, it really is.

  • His daughter is so hot!!! Man were can I get some of that? When was this 20/20 episode on? What year?

  • 1997 i believe. He has a beautiful daughter. Jan looks much much older now. Always loved him.

  • Interview was in 2000

  • Poor guy,i still watch airwolf when it's on sky tv and it's sad to see him like this

  • when was this originally aired?

  • 1997 i believe.

  • Hes a legend!

  • I fell so sad for jan i used to love airwolf,i've just watched an episode on tv and wondered what he was doing,i hope he can sort his life out,and enjoy the rest of his life and his family

  • he is still hot

  • I ejoyed airwolf so much as a kid. This is sad to wach.

  • Your very welcome eeyore!

  • Thanks for tbe info janfan

  • I think it was about 2000,as it states that amber was then 27 buts she's now almost 35.

  • What year was this interview done?

  • Thanx for sharing the video. As i am a JMV fan for over 20years

  • Jan could be the star he once was. He looks totally awesome in this interview.

Jan is an excellent actor, kissed by the gods, so to speak. A pleasure to watch.

Jan portrayed "Stringfellow Hawke" on Airwolf and inspired us all to be heroes who love America.

The guy doing the interview is a nothing who can never ever come close to Jan. The interview was mean spirited and poorly done. He didn't know what questions to ask Jan.

  • Jan be the star he once was? Absolutely no way. This interview is pretty old. Search for Jan on The Insider. It's a 2007 interview. Jan, while denying just how bad off he is in terms of health, is on the verge of death at this point.

  • On the verge of death? it's not that bad but he has to stay on the straight and narrow his body isn't going to put up with too much more shit.

  • On the verge of death? Not hardly. The guy is 63 for pete's sake. That doesn't make him on the verge of death, and he didn't sound it. His attitude didn't seem it either.

  • ThANKS FOR POSTING THIS HERE, R.C.!

  • Gracias por colocar estos videos de JMV, un exelente actor.

  • Jan was one of my boyhood hereos.....and still is .

  • Thank you so much for your time and generosity, rcvheaven. I wish there was some way to pay you back! But you have everything :-) Thanks again!

  • Sure, I enjoy knowing that there are so many JMV fans out there, just like me. At first, a few years ago I thought I was alone in this but soon enough I found out I'm soooooooo not alone.
