Only wanted to show the locations that some of this stuff happened for those who will never get to visit them. We tried to stick to the facts, which as everyone knows can sometimes be clouded. Our intention was just to show locations, not judge. We also made several other DVDs on other famous people not related to Buford Pusser.
I would love to see you reconstruct and video the alleged ambush. I did and I was shocked at the results. Buford was known to drive fast everywhere he went. I passed the Methodist Church on New Hope Road going a steady 50 mph. Two men in a Cadillac parked behind the church gave immediate chase. The first ambush site is only .7 miles from the church. I was approximately 1.8 mile from the church before the Cadillac caught up with me. Buford's version of the ambush just doesn't add up.
The only way we could reconstruct the ambush would be to know exactly how fast he was driving. I dont know and I doubt he even knows. The only problem I have with the "fake ambush" theory is that I just dont see someone having their face blown off in the attempt to get rid of their wife. There are to many other ways. So, I tend to lean towards it was a real ambush and although, Im sure, Buford had his nose in a lot of stuff, I just dont believe he was behind having his wife killed.
I have interviewed Club Owners, moonshiners and bootleggers that all stated that they had made payoffs to Buford. One of Pauline's friends has stated that Buford and Pauline were separated, something that the TBI was aware of as well. Pauline was said to be planning to leave Buford and expose his corruption. This would expose not only Buford, but others as well to a great scrutiny. Desperate men do desperate things in desperate situations. Why was Pauline even with Buford that morning?
