How about strengthen the industry, create new markers (like South Korea), use the tax money for something useful (like create jobs, build infrastructure, instead of bail out banks). Strengthen the unions, get a universal health care, get the bargain rights of health providers.

The best plan to stimulate savings is for the US Fed. Govt. to institute a Tax Free Savings account similar to the canadian model. look up tfsa.gc.ca
Not only would it stimulate the economy as individuals invest their funds in american companies, but it provides them with a tax-free safe haven for retirement. I personally have turned my initial deposit of $5000 into $12000, through investment in silver and gold mining companies, all tax free profit.
Taxing the rich and giving it to the poor doesnt make a richer or better enviorment. We would have no more things, or improve society. Paying the poor for jobs now adds to society, but not in the way of this "stimulus" jobs. Jobs that satisfy consumer demand. Jobs that have a point, a need and a want.
In other words private sector jobs. And the private sector grows faster when it has more capital to work with. So tax them less and have government spend more.

How about strengthen the industry, create new markers (like South Korea), use the tax money for something useful (like create jobs, build infrastructure, instead of bail out banks). Strengthen the unions, get a universal health care, get the bargain rights of health providers.
Do you know that the productivity of workers have increased dramatically over the last decades, but the wages stood flat. But the productivity of manages stood the same (or is worsen) but their income increased 10 times.

You have to increase wages, but you also have to lower the unemployment rate. You have to invest in future markers (like green energy) and you have to collect taxes to build the infrastructure and take care of less fortunate people (like sick people, old people, uneducated people).

When I was in fourth grade I started lending out money in my class for the afternoon breaks. I had one of my friends doing the books for me, and me and another guy made sure we got the money back. We never really had to use force, we had a newspaper that we wrote that went out once every month were we published debts. One of the poorer kids in class we even gave money to. By the end of fifth grade I switched schools and had made a 300% ROI. That's when I fell in love with Capitalism.

Not only would it stimulate the economy as individuals invest their funds in american companies, but it provides them with a tax-free safe haven for retirement. Taxing the rich and giving it to the poor doesnt make a richer or better enviorment. We would have no more things, or improve society. Paying the poor for jobs now adds to society, but not in the way of this "stimulus" jobs. Jobs that satisfy consumer demand. Jobs that have a point, a need and a want.
In other words private sector jobs. And the private sector grows faster when it has more capital to work with. So tax them less and have government spend more.

@XESTISS It was about $13k in 1913 and now it is around $45k in 2004 (household income that is). That is about a 71% difference. The value of the dollar dropped by 97% in that time when compared to gold thus, we're poorer than we were in 1913 when you just compare incomes.

Secondly, it would be more appropriate to ask about the income of 1913 compared to 1813. That's because during those 100 years, without a Federal Reserve, the standard of living and wealth of Americans increased more than any society in human history.
