I wish someone would do some gear swaps in these. Imagine a 1st gear to 40 n' a 2nd to 60. Thats all this thing would need to make some impressive 0-60's not to mention it probly could use a longer final gear?? I'm not sure what it goes to tho so don't throw hate this way
@ayala114 He tells him to idle for 4 to 5 minutes b/c the hot oil running through the turbo needs to cool down, if you just shut it off it will sit and cake up in the turbo. you can buy a turbo timer that idles the car for a couple minutes then shuts it off so you don't have to sit there, which i don't understand why he doesn't have one since they're important and inexpensive to have. especially if your dropping 6 grand on a kit.

@MrSuperchargedCivic it depends on how you look at it to wheather its cheaper and better. for example you can get a GOOD civic si for about 17k spend another 6-7k installing this turbo kit and making a 23,000 dollar car that will beat stock evos all day everyday. or you can get a GOOD evo for about 22k and spend about 2 grand upgrading the turbo, bov, wg, and fmic and the same civic will never touch you. it just depends on wheather you wanna spend alot at once or spread the cost out over time.
@garf117 This is superchargedcivic. Anyway I can get a GOOD Civic Si for 15K. I bought mine for 17K with 22K miles on it. As for the Evo, find me a good one for under 25k. Besides that fact that your 2k price is more like 3-4K for a good EVERYTHING for the Evo. I am still spending less. Lets look at it this way. With an upgraded turbo, BOV, WG, FMIC and lets throw in COBB Tuning as well since your going to have to get that (BTW thats another 600-1k) and the evo will run lets say 500WHP.

Went to SRT to tune my N/A s2000 and they told me I needed a map for E-Manage and they couldn't do it because it "wasn't" hooked up yet and needed to order a map. I was new to tuning and realized you don't need a map to tune N/A, you can use the stock one and configure it. But instead "Mo" told me he needed to call some people to get a map and never answered/returned my calls.

@RevHardEp3 these cars peak torque near redline, so their max HP and torque ratings are so high. The higher the redline, generally, the lower the torque because HP is torque x RPM

Also you need to balance the car. Adding extra baggage will only cause the car to loose it balance. Weight has to be evenly distributed. Most of the cars that are modified, check out the front of the car, it is kissing the ground (too much load on the front tires, your front suspension) too much stress. You can't even race evenly with a stock equipped turbo car, without any wear and tear, internally. Anyways, I didn't mean to shatter anyones dream or to be rude. Please safety first.

did you have to strengthen your engine or drivetrain in any core way after installing a turbo system ? I'm thinking about a modest bolt on kit but i don't want to destroy the practicality or longevity of the car.

@Chevyy91 when you have a boosted car, you need to let it idle so that the turbo can cool down...you can either let the car idle or buy a turbo timer which presets a certain time at your discretion for the car to idle after it has been turned off

They let it idle so the oil caan keep circulating and cool the turbo down. But most new turbo cars you dont have to do this. i.e subies. But its never a bad idea to give it a min to cool down on a hot day.

@pcx454 honestly a stock evo is already boosted. if you were to mod an evo, you're gonna probably throw out the stock turbo and replace it with a bigger turbo and more parts for more power. and its an i-4 just like the civic but the civic doesnt come pre boosted. besides a civic is a great value because parts are cheaper, make more power, and still great gas mileage. a buddy of mine has a boosted civic that kills evos all day lol

when you boost oil rushes to the turbo from the feed line to cool the turbo from overheating. If your boosting and you turn your car off 5 seconds later you can damage your turbo. you need to leave the car at idle so the oil can get back to the block instead of sitting in ur turbo saturating your bearings.
Ok just Googled it, the reason to let the turbo car idle under hard boost is because oil gets on the turbo and stuff you need to let it get off before shutting the car down other it will burn and turn into crude which will be poor oil circulation. That's only when driving in boost range rpms a lot, but if your taking your time you don't need to let it idle.

did you rebuild the engine? stock 8th gen Si have higher compression engine. In order to turbo it, you need to minimize the compression stroke. Therefore, from 2.0L to a 1.8L w/ turbo, of any kind. This project would take good 3 or 4 months, for all forces to come to an equilibrium. ALOT of work. Higher power meaning re-enforcing your suspension, engine mounts, damper (so the car doesn't wobble). Honda spend years and hours in testing this N/A car, even so there are lags and constingencie

Also you need to balance the car. Adding extra baggage will only cause the car to loose it balance. Weight has to be evenly distributed. Most of the cars that are modified, check out the front of the car, it is kissing the ground (too much load on the front tires, your front suspension) too much stress. You can't even race evenly with a stock equipped turbo car, without any wear and tear, internally. Anyways, I didn't mean to shatter anyones dream or to be rude. Please safety first.

@Chevyy91 when you have a boosted car, you need to let it idle so that the turbo can cool down...you can either let the car idle or buy a turbo timer which presets a certain time at your discretion for the car to idle after it has been turned off

i actually like how the tuner mentioned to the owned that you have to let the turbo and oil cool down after driving it hard for a few mins, hence what turbo timers are made for. he could have not said anything and the dude would fuck his shit up and be bringing it back in a few months. good to see people still looking out for the buyers and spenders out there. good build!

They let it idle so the oil caan keep circulating and cool the turbo down. But most new turbo cars you dont have to do this. i.e subies. But its never a bad idea to give it a min to cool down on a hot day.

@pcx454 honestly a stock evo is already boosted. if you were to mod an evo, you're gonna probably throw out the stock turbo and replace it with a bigger turbo and more parts for more power. and its an i-4 just like the civic but the civic doesnt come pre boosted. besides a civic is a great value because parts are cheaper, make more power, and still great gas mileage. a buddy of mine has a boosted civic that kills evos all day lol

it's just for turbo cars I think, but I don't know what the reason for it is? I mean it shouldn't be anything with hear the intercooler keeps the temp. in check so idk. I'ma Google it lol.

when you boost oil rushes to the turbo from the feed line to cool the turbo from overheating. If your boosting and you turn your car off 5 seconds later you can damage your turbo. you need to leave the car at idle so the oil can get back to the block instead of sitting in ur turbo saturating your bearings.

Ok just Googled it, the reason to let the turbo car idle under hard boost is because oil gets on the turbo and stuff you need to let it get off before shutting the car down other it will burn and turn into crude which will be poor oil circulation. That's only when driving in boost range rpms a lot, but if your taking your time you don't need to let it idle.
