  • This is very talented :).

  • It's actually by C.P.E Bach or Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach.

  • whatch mine

  • I would suggest that you should play it in a tempo that is comfortable for you and music remains music. You notes are not even. I've got the same problem. So the solution is to slow down until you play it evenly, uniformly. You can get faster when you technique becomes better but do not sacrifice the music and its beauty.

  • and the chord in left hand at 1:08 is just B (not B flat).

  • Pretty much the same things other ppl has told to you.

This piece is no pedal... just in some parts but not the entire composition.

You must fix the tempo. the original composition by CPE bach have just one "ritardando" at the end.

and please, please, do not play that chords at the end (pleas dont kill the music).

    everything else was fine.

  • Off beat and no pedal. Everything else was good

  • Hi, i think Bach is in baroque period, by that time all the piano are non pedal. In Bach's song, whenever there is a quaver, we must played it detached. If there is semiquaver or even demisemiquaver we must play them as running notes without pedal

  • Yes, I confirm Bach in is Baroque times ^^

  • The version that I play says to use a pedal just as he is using it

  • @llscs so thats version is not the original.

  • You don't play this piece with pedal!!!!!

    Your technique sounds fine...use a metronome..I'm a teacher,listen to me!!! I'm at my student's place,so don't get cranky with her.

  • you do play it with pedal

  • Comment removed

  • I agree that if a piece hasno pedal, you shouldn't play it with pedal, but the temo is fine to change. Think of it as making the piece unique.

  • Your version of Solfegietto is the first one i saw on youtube and it totally inspired me to do my own! yours was had so much emotion and style! awesome work!

  • You have to make sure that the semis are even and why pedal?

  • you all talk about this video as if it is bad, listen some other people can't even play this song, so if he is playing around with the tempo a bit, he is being experimental give the guy a break!

  • Nice try, I thought you shouldn't have slowed down that excessively in bar 25.

  • why are you putting pedal into it ? and it was very uneven.

  • my piano teacher is making me learn this song

    its HARD

  • If you practice up a little more & repost it I think it will be a lot better! :) I'm learning this song right now, too. How long were you playing it before you posted this up?

  • ur tempo was a little off... not very even... good job though

  • You are varying the tempo what seems like accidently. You are also playing many of the notes wrong. The entire piece is written to sound like one hand, but with yours it sounds choppy and doesn't feel right. Lastly, there is absolutely no pedal in then piece. None.

  • a true pianist would not always have to play what is written, also a true composer would never write everything down that they expect to be played. Changing the piece (ie adding pedals) gives it variation and style so the player can make the piece more of his own.

  • Where have you found these truths! If he is a musical student he can make it his own without destroying it,which is what he has done. Don't make such ignorant statements.

  • i played dis song wen i wuz 12! u did an awesome job!! nice endin

  • sorry but that just ruined the song for me...... you did a good job on most of it.... but when you slowed down it kinda of lost it's feeling..... you know what I mean??

  • great job!!!!!

I just finished the 1st page of this song!

    xD

    its soooooooooo much fun!

  • are you good in math?

  • You can play it how you want, as long as you enjoy it. I wouldn't worry about playing it the right way.

  • That is good. even I can't play as goo as that.

  • Well, its not bad, but not good, too^^. First of all, its not the same tempo, at the end youre getting slower, but thats not what bach has written! ;) Then, I would play it fully without the pedal, it sounds better and bach didnt write it in the notes too. And then try to play it as constant as you can, it sounds not exactly, youre playing the notes faster and slower all the time. sorry for my bad english^^

    thats all ;)

  • Try to play it all the same tempo, you are playing some parts too fast, and those slow downs I can't understand what you did, you can't do this to a classical piece, just my opinion, but you are playing it really nice, but try to play the normal way, and I saw like 2 or 3 wrong notes, but you are playing good boy, keep it. :]

  • I played this for a recital today. I will upload the video of it tomorrow. :P

  • u hair rocks

    looks like rock lee hair

  • what's more amazing is you don't look at sheet music. bravo

  • Bien ahi pendejo!!

  • Way too much pedal...this is supposed to resemble a nice late-Baroquey harpsichord, not a Romantic fantasia...

  • romantic fantasia is good though.. gives of a peaceful sense through emotional music.. its very good.. though i do respect your comment

  • In my Form and analysis class in college, we discussed the fact that most music of this era came to us with no tempo markings at all. I applaud anyone, especially a guy your age, to take creative liberties with a piece of music.

When I first learned Prelude in Cmaj, I always ended it with a Fmin chord leading to a Cmaj. My piano teacher wanted to kill me, but I never let that stop me, because I liked the way it sounded.

Keep up whatever your doing man!

  • very well Riley

  • every one has his own style, let's respect his one.

  • Seriously, thank you kreutzo1, its not really that important i just like the way it sounds and it is, in a way my style.

  • I like your version, the song is fast enough the way u play it. Faster versions get a bit chaotic and without any feelings most of the times.

  • Yeah, actually is very good played, and with very creative changes. Still, I think that, in this piece, sounds better if u respect a little more the tempo.

Just an opinion, very well man.

  • i tryed it your way and it wasnt the same so i play that part fast and i will post a vid. of it soon so please check it out

  • I totally understand how you wanted it to sound by slowing down on that one part. Normally, however, it's supposed to be played a bit faster and have a constant tempo. Also, many people make the mistake of using the damper pedal on this song. Actually, it's not supposed to be used. I think you did a good job, just giving some advice.

  • oh come on, give the kid a break! he did good! and you know what? maybe he played it that way, to make it his own! don't discourage musical talent in process!

  • why did you slow down for the hard part is that how it is? because i play that part fast and no one told me anything?

  • where did i slow down?

  • right about at 1:15 you start then you speed up at about 1:30 not staying its bad but wornging if people are laughing at me when i play it. and do you take lessons>?

  • o no, i completely ment to slow down there. Thats just what i wanted to do.

  • and yes i take lessons but i'm studying jazz right now

  • he never slowed down.

  • no one cares if you played it fast, we play our own way

  • so if i think it sounds better i can slow down or speed up any where???

  • uh yeah...

  • isn't the goal to make the piece sound the best that you can? so if it sounds better why not?

  • i think musicians are artists and, as such, can interpret music how they want. haven't you heard singers re-do famous songs with their own interpretation? some people enjoy the new interpretation, some prefer the traditional one. variety is the spice of life! :-)

  • no it depends really on which part...because some parts of classical pieces that should be played it pretissimo sound off when they slow down...the ending should be slow but it doesn't sound as "flowing" as it should

  • Wow. really good. This is C.P.E. Bach though right?

  • ya it is

  • Beautifully played lol

  • Dude you're amazing. Sorry about the broken arm dude... that always sucks. But keep up the good work!

  • If someone hasn't already said this... "Symphony X - The Damnation Game". Listen to the intro, you'll see... I can play part of this song, since it's so close to Symphony X's. But yeah, Riley, again you amaze me! I'd love to see "Piano Concerto" by Edvard Grieg. It's tough, but I bet you could do a killer job!!!

  • I'd be overjoyed to be able to play like that! =O

  • u rock!

  • you ever think that the pieces created in older times werent always perfect.i have never heard this song before but by the comments it seems that he tweaked the speed of it and i congrajulate him for it.=]

  • wow,I am very impressed. You play beautifully.I am not surprised though; you were a pretty amazing kid at Grace Best! Your hair is longer and you look just a tad older. A dear teacher friend of mine, in CT., once had John Mayer as a 5th grader. I hope that I will get your autograph someday too when you are famous.Always believe in yourself, for dreams do come true! JH

  • very good for your age. best of luck for the future

  • is good but try to goon same rapidity beacuse oe time you go fast and other time slow so try it!

  • Very nice work =]

I think it could be tweaked a little, but overall it've impressive!

  • umm this is amazing kid. do some more popular ones,,, there are adults who will never be this good. you are a freaking genius!!

  • ehm... thats not right Oo

you don't play it in the right rhythm you try to play it faster then you can... try it slower before you a going to show us that in the internet

and you play some notes FALSE!

    but keep the work up

  • shut up....he's a kid, not a major piano person (i don't play piano, but still); you shouldn't tell him all that crud, it's not nice...i think he did an excellent job

  • Someone can do an excellent job. But you can still criticsize it, and it doesn't necessarily mean it sucks.

  • uh, shut up.

he did amazing, he's a kid.

  • some of this is slower than it needs to be. the tempo is off at alot of spots. otherwise good job!

  • less pedal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yah

  • ahh. your awesome

  • nice work...try slowing down those fast passages a little until they become a little tighter, but an all around excellent job...keep up the good work.

  • i think u retarded too much on that one spot
