  • The original Hippy Hippy Shake by the great Chan Romero!

Indorock band the Hot Jumpers recorded their own version of this song in 1961 (Imperial Records) which became very populair in Holland and was played a lot live on stage by the many Indorock bands in Germany.

  • the nice music lives forever

  • this song is better than the beatle´s song !

    wow

  • Impresionante...!

  • I've always loved this. The Swinging Blue Jeans version is tame in comparison and is about as exciting as watching a fly crawl up a window. At the same time as Chan recorded this, Eddie Quinteros was making some great recordings too. Also Tex-Mex.

  • Awesume!!!!

  • The best Spanish-based Rock and roll ever !!

  • Great,,,,,,,,,,,,A Triumph,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • Nahhhh! Forget the copies. Dis is de one. De bees nezzzz!

  • Chan, is releasing a new Cd shortly.

One of the songs will be an updated

version of Hippy, Hippy, Shake. It is

an exciting Rock-n-Roll Cd, that would

    be enjoyed.

  • I love the Swingin' Blue Jeans' version of this - but I can see they just copied the original arrangement. I think Ray Ennis sang it better though. Still a great track. The Beatles were a great band but didn't do a good version of this.

  • yeah, i also love the Swinging Blue Jeans verson, but Chan Romero is just fab!! The Beatles versons that excist on the BBC recordings are NOT GOOD!! ;-)

  • They are for Chan, those Beatles versions are the first he received royalties for apparently.

  • An extremely popular song in Australia in 1959. People were always ringing up the local radio station and requesting this one (by Chan Romero).

  • This is the ORIGINAL "Hippy Hippy Shake".

It was written and performed by Chan Romero, and reached No.3 in Australia in 1959.

The Beatles version came 4 years later in 1963, but it wasn't as good as the original.

  • I wish somebody would post the song "If I had a way" by Chan Romero

  • does anyone know if Chan is still alive? I use to print his CD labels for him in Billings, Montana

  • Yes, he's still alive.

He was born in 1941, so he's only 67 (in 2008).

  • does anyone know if Chan is still alive? I use to print his cd labels for him
