@HamptonRoadsTVFan WFSB was always really high on pushing their news team, which was consistently #1 in the Hartford market throughout the '80s. These spots reflect that.
We had the Gipper runnin´ things, the LA Olympics totally kicked butt, and mom n dad were bringing home the bacon bigtime! Lookin back, the Clinton years totally fubar´d America.
First, it was KMGH Channel 7 from 1953 to 1995, being the CBS station for 42 years.
Now, being the CBS affiliate is KCNC's problem, and it has been for 14 years.
KCNC is more than just a CBS affiliate, it is owned by the network itself; and that was after NBC (Channel 4's former owner/affiliate) sold KCNC to CBS.
@newscaster13 In fact, the way I see it, that's the trouble with Fox stations nowadays. Oh, if only it weren't for that agreement they made with the NFL around 1994...
The guy in the KHOU promo looks just like Harvey from Double Dare.

Always thought it was interesting how the 1984 and 1985 WFSB versions focused on their news coverage.

All the promos were really great! My two favorites are the ones for WITI and WFSB, though.

tyrese3745 2 years ago
Actually, for WBBM, this video was from a year BEFORE 1984.
watch?v=hOUO_BqjCQA&feature=related
This is the first installment of the We've Got the Touch (1983) customized for WBBM.
It shows Dan Craig (Bill Kurtis's replacement while he was at the CBS National News).
It shows all the others: Chicago institution Walter Jacobson, sports anchor Johnny Morris, Harry Porterfield and weatherman John Coughlin.

I KNOW that. I saw the video. Well, what about the WCBS-TV Channel 2 version of the 1984-85 campaign?

Two Former CBS Affiliates are now with different networks.
KMGH Channel 7 in Denver is now with ABC
WITI Channel 6 in Milwaukee is now owned by the FOX network

@newscaster13 WITI is now a Fox television affiliate, owned by Local TV, LLC

@newscaster13 And both only mention their channels at the very end of their promos.
Just want to mention-- there's versions for now-defunct WBNB in the Virgin Islands and still-active WDEF in Chattanooga as well.
