  • What are the individual wattages each bulb?

  • @AngilasGuy They are 3w Cree LED chips

  • @AngilasGuy Each LED is 3 watts.

  • @ecoxotic1 yeah thats sounds good and will the 12,000k leds add a little bit of blue to the tank, and how many watts? Thanks for the quick response :)

  • @sparky825 Yes, they will add a little blue to the tank. They pull 18-21 watts each lamp.

  • Can i keep soft corals with these? What is the best one to really brighten the color? How many of these will i need for a 30" long tank? In your opinion what is the best one? Thanks a bunch

  • @sparky825 Sure, PAR38 lamps work great on 30" aquariums. We would recommend using 2 of our 12,000K PAR38's, you'll even be able to keep SPS corals if you like.

  • if i did this on my standard 125 gallon, how many bulbs would i need and how far do i space them apart

  • @Phantomg23 On a 125 gallon, you would need to use 6-8 lamps and space them around 6" apart from each other.

  • How many of these would i need for a 10 gallon reef 20x10x12

  • @blackreef13 On a 10 gallon aquarium, we would recommend using just one unit mounted 14" or so above the aquarium. It will provide plenty of light for you!

  • @ecoxotic1

will i be able to keep sps under these lights

  • @blackreef13 Yep, you can easily keep SPS corals under these.

  • i was wondering ??

i have a jbj 24 gallon nano cube , with polips and acroporas and montiporas they are under a jbj k2 viper deluxe with a 150 watt phoenix bulb , i want to replace my metal halide , how many of these bulbs do i need for my jbj nano cube 24 gallon

  • @flakkitto Hi - if you wanted to replace your metal halide, using two of these lamps would be plenty of light. Two of them over your aquarium will actually provide more light than your existing 150w halide and look stunning!

  • I have a 29 Gallon 30inch long tank and about 18 inces tall. How many of these light would I need?

  • @TheDeltaFlight Hi, on a 30" aquarium, using 2-3 of our 12,000K PAR lamps will work perfect for any type of coral you would like to grow!

  • How big is this tank? I have 20gallon 2ft long tank. would one of this PAR38 be alright?

  • @00APrilAq00 This is a 5 gallon Pico aquarium. For a 20 gallon long tank, you would need to use two of these lamps.

  • do you think this you be to much for a 3gallon pico jbj with some sps and lps

hanging the fixture about 12-15 inches off the water

  • @johnnysreef9 Definitely these would be much too strong for a pico aquarium, the Stunner strips would be a much better option.

  • what type of fixture would you need with the bulb

or can you just use a normal lamp or and regular outlet

  • @johnnysreef9 Yes, these fit into any normal screw-in socket type fixture.

  • what type of ficture would you need with the bulb

or can you just use a normal lamp or and regular outlet

  • Hi doRYEmon,

it can be difficult to compare the PAR38 directly to a metal halide as the penetration and spread is dependent upon the height you mount them. If you mount these 12" above the water, the amount of light (PAR) can be close to a 175-250 watt halide. You could very easily use 4-6 of these over a 65 gallon tank with SPS, again - it will be dependent upon how high you mount them over the tank.

  • been looking at this product for a while now; the 12,000k and the 455nm PAR38s. can you tell me what the single 12,000k bulb would be equiv. to compared to metal halides? and how many of them would you need to supply a 65 gallon reef with enough light for SPS corals? (4? 2-12k and 2-455nm? or is that overkill)

  • oh shit!!! this is too damn awesome...

does this thing wipe drool off the floor?

  • @fupenjiu Nope - that's what we sell our EcoChams for!
