@balancedesign2010 It was bad writing because if he was gay they should have gave subtle hints or mentioned it before this happened. Or if he DID become gay they should have developed his character. There is no explanation and then he just dies. Its pretty dumb. I prefer no homosexual characters for this movie. There was aabsolutely no references to relate him being gay.

@MaharlikaAWA well there are two possibilties. a) in the book they go into depth and talk about this more. but i dont know cos i didnt read it or b) his inhibitions came out when he was very drunk and feeling rejected by the baldies and then by his own gang. you know how ppl get when they're drunk. they do crazy shit they wouldnt normally do. you've seen the ads for ' girls gone wild' haha!

I saw this movie in 1982 and for some reason they had cut the scene where Turkey gets killed. I only realised Turkey died when I saw it again a few years later. Love this movie.

@davidhaythornthwaite the music was from the 60's. Stand by me (the Kennedy scene) '61. The Angels song at the party was from '63, so they were listening to the freshest. Seems period correct.

Everything about the movie depicts the early 60's though.
