my teache is always on me about playing a peice slow, concious to the metronome, and perfect tone before i ever worry about bnging it up to tempo. its such a good way to build up your sability and confidence with a peice. eventualy playing it up to speed wll be no problem! good job!
I was looking for a video of this piece to play it well. But i think you should play it faster and you ignore some dinamics. sorry but my english is not very good.
Scree mate, thanks so much for playing at this tempo!!!!!!!!!!! You have helped me immensely to get a grip on this syncopated rythmn.
My teacher started me on this piece last week but I just couldn't get a proper feel for it until I heard your recording. Thanks a lot, I hope you do all his stuff at this tempo. Please!!!!!
yes you play good.. now start to play with the real rythm, remember you play the part in 1 minute.. it is intend to be a study.. good playing of yours :-)
Very insightfull description and good playing. To my taste it would be more genuine if you'd really exagerate the marcato bass and bring it up more faster tempowise but got to admit Don that it's really fluid and confident. Cheers and keep on digging Brouwer!
Hi Eric, Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not as familiar with these studies as you may be. I learned this piece about an hour before recording it. I think the tempo was pretty close to the 1 minute mark suggested. I don't know how strict these markings are ( Kind of vague if you ask me). I think everyone will play this a little differently. I think that's a good thing. Why do you want to sound like everyone else. I was only as confident as one can be for pretty much sight reading it. lol
Well Don it was merely just some toughts on it and some advices that could make you try some different things. I just dont wanted to end-up doing a comment that wasn't helpful. It's nice to get motivating comments but i think it's better to get some tips/advices and toughts along too.
Gosh Sir Don I am so late with my comment! I must have missed your video. I always wonder who those bastards are that only give 3 or 4 stars. Well ... You know what they say; Nil bastardi carborundum. (Will you tell me if you need a translation?) So Sir Don, have you been slaying some dragons lately?
Beautiful performance, Don, you are really great! and congratulatios for the Leo's biography, complete information about him. I think this care with the piece's author is always very important.
It's so beautiful Don! It's like you're telling something..like the music is telling a story (can't explain that feeling lol but I hope you understand)

needs more of a dynamic distinction. That is one of the goals to learn in this study. Dynamics.

Hi Lady Jolina, No, they can't do that. I just say they're Non Gradus Anus Rodentum! lol Whatever, everyone's a critic. Especially with Brouwer.

you agree with me there?!
