I've been watching your let's plays to see if this game is worth getting, after playing awesome Dark Souls. And come to the looks of things, the setting looks very dull and gray compared to Dark Souls. Not enough color. :( I still don't understand why some people prefer Demon's Souls over Dark Souls in the Gamespot forums. 0_o The only thing that I can understand why people prefer this game is for its story, while Dark Souls doesn't really have a story told to you.
@MAT0R0 because Demon's is a fair amount harder, you cant really sequence break the game and make it easier from early item acquisition as much, and the whole tone of the game is much darker, more brooding with a sense of overwhelming doom. And the NPC interaction is much more rich, there's really a whole lot more going on. Unfortunately, the overworld setup of DarkSouls is verrrrrrry awesome and no doubt the weapons and armor are much cooler.
You replied to my comment in video 22 that you were playing this mostly offline after the first level. If that's the case, then I'm curious as to why you continued to play in Soul form. It doesn't seem like the stealth bonus is particularly high, and having your body would both give you more health and free up a ring slot.
@Influx27 Again, because of world tendency. I didn't want to accidentally die and shift the world tendency towards black when I didn't want it to. Of course, the way I did things in the end rendered that rather moot, I believe. I guess you could say it was poor planning on my part.
Ok so I tried that wind sword in a normal area and it just acted like any other sword. Too bad that by the time you actually get it you already have better weapons because it has some pretty decent stats.
Okay, first of all, that was amazing, second of all, your voice makes me think of Genesis from Crisis Core: FFVII, and lastly, TO HELL with those two black phantoms in world 3-3!!
@doulos19 You should trade in the Demon's Souls for spells, miracles, and weapons. Eat the ones that you no longer have any use for after repeated runs through the game or that just don't have any other use (such as the flamescale souls from killing the dragons in World 1).
Yup! I just checked! Not only did they just come back but I got 15,260 for killing them and also BOTH of the crystal geckos re-spawned down by the sword! SO AWESOME!!
@MrFinalgamer Second Chance is learned by giving the Old Hero's soul to Urbain. When invoked, Second Chance brings you back to 50% HP after taking a hit that reduces you to 0 HP. Second Chance lasts until you return to the Nexus or until its effect is triggered.
I don't think he was shooting his offspring at you... I always thought they were just javelins that happened to have a bit of a manta ray... er, storm beast shape to them.
And I'm curious what world you're going to be doing next. You've already defeated the armor spider, so the rest of World 2 should only take a couple videos to get through, unless you plan on extensively exploring 2-2.
@Arukuu I've been wondering what to do next as well. I'll probably only show off the shortcut and notable locations to 2-2 and cut the tunnel wandering because I tend to get horribly, horribly lost there.
I tend to dislike fighting the Flamelurker without a Purple Flame Shield, but I could give it a go anyway. All else fails, I die a horrible, flaming death. And those are almost always fun.
@IthilionTheBrave yeah if i didnt have my purple flame shield i got from world 1 the flamelurker would of killed me almost instantly so i just kept going around a pillar and kept hitting him took me like 30 minutes rofl
Could you farm this area for souls using that sword?

@MrFinalgamer You will also need 100 MP to cast it, so at least 15 Intelligence, as well as 16 Faith for the two miracle spell slots it takes.
