this isn't really flamenco tho. it doesn't suck but it's not flamenco. it's his interpretation i know, like paul gilbert's flamingo is his...just would be nice if yngwie could play flamenco for real.

slightly OT is he a slave to the pick or does he simply prefer it's sound? just curious.  i mean nobody HAS to hear the guitarist except for the guitarist. so he should sound good to himself first. but wondering if he just really prefers a pick across the board.

@NolitaDenise Probably the fact that learning how to play real flamenco would require a lot of work learning all kinds of new techniques involving the right hand. I guess it's just easier for people that are very good with a pick to pick it instead of learning a new right hand style.

I would guess that Yngwie like a number of very good established guitarists, no longer 'practices' as such, which may be a reason why he hasn't learnt flamenco right hand technique.

Eddie's albums stand the test of time as rock classics. You ever heard Alone in Paradise by Yngwie Malmsteen? Could easily pass for The Backstreet Boys if it didn't have a shred solo in it.

Whats wrong with a neoclassical musician trying flamenco? Are you seriously stating that he is not allowed to learn anything new? @Supertasticaquatics I think a lot of Jackasses perceive "feeling" as Pentatonic scales (blues) or holding a bent note for long periods of time. Those same ppl always happen to be the worst guitarists I've ever come across & really can't play anything else & are pretty much at an intermediate or if I'm honest a beginner level regardless of age or experience. It's always mediocre & garbage musicians that throw the word "feeling" around with virtuosos, then they feel good about their inadequacy.
