We give them an actual thing of significance, that being a physical thing like wine that causes, hopefully a positive effect. We give the church an acknowledgment of a horrid time in our past, that being the abuse and neglect of our first peoples which is being corrected on the streets and in our historical paperwork, a true mark of a great society growing up...and they give us a replica of a meaningless pen. Take your issue and problems with the Archbishop of Canterbury, not the Bishop of Rome. The Pope has no responsibility for them. Except in certain Anglican diocese that are in communion with Rome and the Pope.
