My friend pointed out to me what's gone so wrong for Glee: in the first season it was a satire, making fun of everything cliched about high school. But in the second season, it started to become exactly what it had initially been satirizing, and it lost everything that was new and witty about it. That, plus every other thing that is now terrible about it.

I used to like Glee, in season one it was consistent and it was never one of the best shows on TV but it was enjoyable and really fun to watch. The second season went completely downhill in my opinion, the characters became so annoying and all the writers did was switch all the couples around, it was ridiculous. The Santana/Brittany storyline made me cringe because it felt completely forced like the writers NEEDED lesbians on the show. I gave up on Glee a month ago, thank god.

Here's the thing about Glee. When it's good, it's fucking amazing. And when it's bad, it's pretty much the worst thing on television.

And I say this as someone who is obsessed with it and has been watching it since the Pilot. I truly love it, but at the same time, GOD IT FUCKING IRRITATES ME TO ALL HELL.

I think the first season of Glee is amazing. But after that, it sort of lost it's magic. I remember being so disappointed with the first episode of season 2, then never not being disappointed again.

Sounds like fun. I started watching Glee because of Darren Criss and starting taking it way too seriously (because I usually like TV shows like Buffy, Community, Doctor Who and Sherlock and therefore have really high standards and expect to be able to rewatch the episodes and pick at them and analyze the characters but Glee doesn't like continuity so it frustrated me endlessly.

Its the Ryan Murphy curse. He did the same thing to Popular, Nip Tuck and slowly is doing it to American Horror Story. The guy ruins the potential in the show. I cant even BEGIN to understand the hypocrisy between certain characters and how they've completely given up on characters. My poor Quinn. That's all I have to say.

I had to do a qualitative research study for one of my finals this semester. It could bee on anything. I chose Glee, and did a full study on people's reactions to Quinn Fabray. After I concluded that she'd probably always be cast as the mean girl and never be friends with Rachel, I go and watch the Dec. 6th episode (I didn't let myself watch anything after Dec. 1st). Yes this is exactly how I feel! The show is so frustrating but I CAN'T stop. I only watch because tumblr makes pretty things after the episode and I am in love with each cast member. The first season was so good! I got annoyed towards the end of the second season and, because of school and my own irritation, I stopped before the season ended. I'm the demographic! I loved Glee when it first started as it was a sharp satire on the "underdog" culture, but embraced it at the same time (e.g Rachel's character was likeable and real, yet a stereotype at the same time!) but then it became concerned with actually portraying the storylines it was satirizing! It became too serious, but that being said, the way it deals with a lot of issues (especially homosexuality) is brillantly sensitive
