I love wow, but today i started playing LOTRO, and honestly I hate to say it but it's a much better quality game all around. Not leaving wow for it as I have too much time and money invested, but on patch days, or weekends when i just get tired of all the elitist gearscore huggers and juvenile spammers in trade chat, I'll be in Middle Earth. Also LOTRO on the highest dx10 graphics settings maxed out, has at least double the fps i can get on wow. BOOM!

Lol no offense man but.. If you're going to show a video with the purpose of displaying minor graphical details - make sure your video is extremely high quality, otherwise it is completely worthless.

I've played WoW since classic and played LOTRO since release, I've decided that LOTRO is my favourite.Reasons: WoW players are too retarded, LOTR lore>warcraft lore. LOTRO has updates introducing more quests, items,and stuff - WoW has updates to fix bugs. It just seems that with LOTRO they are adding stuff whilst making the expansions wheareas with WoW it feels they release a expansion and then go and make another one. They're milking the series far too much. They ruined it with BC in my opinion

I think most LOTRO fans play LOTRO because they feel it is a more mature game based on a franchise that they love, and not because it has a good menu.

yeah when did you start playin wow ? 5 months ago ???? i played WOW since beta and just sold my wow account for $380. last month, i played and have a LOTRO account and getting back into this one, wow is outdated and to many preteens play that game, its a fun game but there xpansions have been getting lamer and lamer, WOW is the new FFX1, i would sugest LOTRO for better adult gameing exp, but hey to each their own..

It's ridicolous how beautiful this game is, the game really has everything a die hard MMORPG-fan can request, beautiful environment and graphics, great gameplay and dynamic, quests, lore and the community is great. I am glad this is not the best-seller game, it separates the kids from the adults, making it an even more enjoyable game.

A) DX10 is automatically on vista. B) DX10 and drivers are up to date.

Quad Core Extreme @ 4.0ghz

8G ram SLI ready BFG

2x GFX 295 cards in SLI

2x Raid 0 HD's 500g each

42' Sony HDTV/Monitor 1080p

its runing solid at 237 fps but I want to enable dx10 cant I if its only a trial account?

oh and this game runs at 87 fps on my laptop so its not hard to have a gaming laptop just expensive lol got a alienware with sli cards

I run DX10 on my righ with ultra high settings and this game is gorgeous blows any other mmo out of the water except for age of connan which i also run on dx10 with ultra high and it looks slightly better than lotro

What are your specs man ? Here is mine since I'm getting this new PC soon enough! Gamers Base Unit. Nvidia 9600. Intel® Core® 2 Duo. (E8400 (3.0GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB) , Asus TA-8H3 Case With 450 Watt PSU , Vista Premium 64 Bit & Disc , No Power Supply Upgrade , 2 - 9600GT 512MB Graphics Cards , Asus P5N-D Motherboard , 500GB Sata 2 Hard Drive , 4GB DDR 2 800 MHz Memory With these specs, I should be able to play LOTRO with Very High without any problems.

@ matobi91: Laptops are not good gaming machines. Judging by your stats, even with a good connection and your graphics set low with DX9/10 off, your lappy will run this game very slowly.

And DX10 is better but did cause problems with crashing the game a few months back, but again, having this on will lag your game.

Having vista will not affect your game in any way tbh.

Yeh i have vista 64 bit running this in dx10 mode with a steady frame minimum of 50 and a max of 120 in areas.

Actually, my brother has an 8600GT, [not mobile, in his desktop], and can get over 50fps on Ultra-high in DX9.

I use a 7300GT and get over 30-40fps on HIGH.

Those stats on DX9 will run LOTRO beautifully.

My comment was not in general reference to the stats, it was a point being made about a laptop with those stats.

The difference between a desktop and a laptop is immense.

Laptop's are inferior for gaming.

This is not 'just an opinion' much less 'my opinion', it is simply an outright fact stated for the benefit of someone asking, :P.

If you could repro that framerate you boast with matobi91's laptop, I would accuse you of witchcraft, hahaa :B

My laptop(HP DV9335nr) has a Go 7600, T5300(1.73Ghz) Centrino Duo CPU, and I'm running 4GB memory with Vista. I can run this game at a solid 30 on a mix of Ultra and high settings. I actually use the troubleshooter menu option and lower the fps manually to 30. If unlocked, this "crappy" machine runs at 40fps on Ultra/high settings.

The DX10 differences are subtle but noticeable. But I dont think LOTRO can justify an upgrade to VIsta just yet.

i palay lotro on xp pro sp2 (so no DX 10) with a 8800 gtx and 2gig of ram and have every thing maxed out ou 1600x900 rez and there isnt that great a difference
