@zeppelo You can set it up to be anything you want. I've adjusted the thrussrod (really annoiying with the bolt in the neck pocket...) and screwed the bridge down right to the body and it play's really easy. There is a fair amount of fret buzz, but I don't mind it a lot.
@Sebasstian86 thanks, i bought a second had Dano 63 bass and i find it hard to tap,slap and pluck since my strings are really hard, I thought of changing them but i have no idea which ones will do the job. Anyway nice job on the bass!
These strings work well. The E string is very buzzy though...but I kinda like that sound. You can also screw down the bridge. I have it srewed right to the wood and the set-up is still fine.
@Sebasstian86 ok, thanks. my friend wants to sell his danelectro 63 longneck to me with hard case and amp for $350. would that be a good buy? i see a whole range of prices online so i was just wondering.
I have to agree also...this sounds great...I've been looking at expensive guitars etc and come across the danelectro ones and they sound amazing, as does this bass also....:)
@Sebasstian86 : hope i can, but what i do have is the Danelectro Dead On 58 Longhorn Bass..it's sooo sweet, this i will keep & no more outside influences for me..i learned my lesson...cheers friend! =0]
Lol poor manny8312. Out a good bass and getting no sympathy from the users of YouTube

Sebasstian what about the action on the fretboard? Is it low and easy to play or hard as an old Hofner?

is the sound quality better without listening to it through a video?
ForLackOfAChimpanzee 10 months ago
@ForLackOfAChimpanzee Yes, a lot!
This is recorded using my mobile phone...which is not exactly studio quality, to say the least.
The sound I hear directly is much clearer with more pronouced bass and dynamics.
However the sound quality of my mobile is acceptable and you can get a pretty good idea what the guitars and effects I use sound like.

@ForLackOfAChimpanzee Sounds resonable, it depends on the amp I guess.
Sebasstian86 10 months ago
@Sebasstian86 yeah, i don't know anything about the amp. thanks for your answers!

tornmask 1 year ago
@tornmask Thx mate,
I won't! This thing is cheap as hell but it plays and sounds so sweet. Its my main bass and I don't think a $1200 fender would replace it easily :-P
To bad you gave yours up...maybe you can get another one second hand
