Mike Huckabee has NO clue on the Canadian Health Care system. We pick any doctor. I live in the province of Ontario in Canada. The major thing different from the american system is the Ontario government operates the health insurance plan. Doctors only need to deal with one insurance provider and download their billing information directly to the health insurance computer and get paid. Hospitals download directly billing information to the OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) computer.
We spend about $3500 per person in Ontario on health compared to the average of $7000 in the USA.
Everyone is covered and more preventive health care is done than the USA.
The government in Ontario that started OHIP in the 1960's was the PC party which is what American would call a moderate Republican. Parties from the left, center and the right start ed universal health care in other parts of Canada.
