  • that was awesome !!!

    Can't wait to get licensed!~!!!!

  • Enjoyed the nostalgia. As a kid, having your own space in the house to explore your hobby was important. Imagine having a tower & quad at that age!

  • Hi Randy,

Another great video and yu brought back a flood of memories of my own Amateur Radio past from 1970 as a 14 year old teen. Now at 54 still loving the hobby.

Wonder if you are married and what Mr's AGE thinks of your hobby. My wife Donna has been a great sport.

    73,

    Glenn

    W3ETF

  • Nope, I have my Heath and an Ameco. Wished I had kept the Ameco, those are worth a lot of money these days.

  • That was great. Thanks.

  • In the first picture you show, it looks

like an NC300 with converters they were

    using for the VHF contest...

  • Hi Randy, great video of all your past gear. I had several of the same pieces of gear as you, from that first Hallicrafters receiver SX-71 (at 1:08) to the Ten-Tec 540 TritonIV, to the Kenwood TS-130. I also saw what looks to be a Santec ST144up on the bottom left shelf in Wayne Greens den. That was a great radio. I thought the Santec came out in the 80's though. I even had a Shure 444D with my Ten Tec. That 540 had the best full breakin CW of any radio I've owned. 73's -Jason KA3SIQ

  • Great trip down memory lane. Very nice!!!

  • Hey, thanx for that! 73

  • Excellent video Randy. It reminds me of my path in Amateur Radio so far. In fact I have a FT736R + FT990 just the same! Looking forward to more K7AGE videos.. thankyou.

  • Wow, that was a cool vid! Most kids had a dad or grandparent to bug them with tons of old pictures and stories. I never had that growing up so I always enjoy hearing old stories and seeing old pics! Thanks for sharing with us Randy!

  • Wow! A heathkit Color TV?! Cool. I'd like to build one today. Must have been something else when it was state of the art.

  • The Heath TV had a telephone built in too!

The ring would make you jump! My old bud had one, nice!

Enjoyed the vid, thanks! May get back into ham radio, been dormant too long.

  • Yeah they called it Space Command or something like that.

  • Very good presentation. Moves along nicely. Antique Wireless Assoc museum is great!. Did pinhole photography, but no longer have darkroom. Digital pinhole now possible. 73 de N2UGB

  • Well done Randy. Enjoyed the walk through memory lane. Jeff N6QPF

  • I knew there was a reason I liked you besides radio. I have run into fellow New Yorkers every where I have gone. I just moved back to NY after ten years I was living in Grand junction CO. I am missing the sun I forgot how cold and dark it gets in the winter here. 73's KC2BKM

  • Randy- K7AGE,

Thank you for your informative Ham videos. I have enjoyed seeing them. Just getting stated in HF digital modes. I am very involved in emergency communications in Winnebago County, Illinois. Working a TS-2000 and finally putting up a 55' foot tower for a KLM, Kt-34 four element, tri-bander. To date have been using B&W 90' folded dipole with mixed results.

Thanks again for your contribution to Ham Radio.

  • K7AGE de G4BXD. Great little film, reminded me a lot of my passage through the hobby, started back in 1969 and I too have a picture trail. Must clip it together some day. 73, Ben.

  • It was fun to dig out all the old photos and put this video together. It has been very popular. I had one fellow say that he owned my GE 2M FM radio that is in the video. I bought it from the fellow that I sold it to. Amazing, I sold it 30 years ago and that he saw the video. Randy

  • Keep it up. This is good stuff.

  • Very interesting piece of HAM history! vy 73 from Germany, DG1MJH

  • Nice going. Brings back many memories; don't be surprized at the popularity of the viewings. I'm sure it is limited by the fact that the great majority of potential viewers will not know it is there. 73 de IKØHIT, Pesa.

  • Superb !
