i'm vietnamese american and i respect every culture's type of food they eat. it's easy for us to get food but developping countries don't have the luxury of having many choices of food like us. i find it sad how many americans waste so much food. what we SHOULD worry more is the treatment of animals for food, ie: they live in poor, constrained, unsanitary areas and farmers give copious amounts of antibiotics, which is ironic when doctors tell us we shouldn't overdose for fear resistant bacteria.

I dont know how the culture is in the rest of Lassie eating cultures, but in Vietnam dogs are considered as a special occasion meal. Last year my wife cooked a dog as a Christmas dinner! Nothing is wasted in Vietnam so on the table was all parts of the doggie meat, intestines, stomach, you name it.

In the U.S., they fixed dogs and the dog would be their pets, they did violate the rights of the dog, how can you address that? In Vietnam, the people have plenty of food to eat but they're still eating dogs because if you think like this, right now you have beef and pork, what if you only eat pork everyday?
