I learned this trick the same way you are showing it now. the problem with the way you do it is that if your timing is wrong you will grab the blade instead of the safe handle and will slice your hand up. the way cutlerylover did it you will not slice your hand up but if you swing the blade wrong after you spin the knife around your though the blade can get you. either way works but I recommend taping your blade because this is a tough move at first.
I don't know what you did. The only difference between the two moves is that you start from the other handle and therefore the blade is facing away from your hand, which makes my version a little safer. Of course if you screw up you can still cut yourself with my version. I actually thought of this move so one could practice the zen rollover without taking that much risks, although trying to do tricks with a bali will always involve some sort of risk.
You sound like that guy from Family Guy where they had the big foot scene. The part where he said "I was totally about to bone my girlfriend, but then I heard this noise in the woods. When I came back she said there was no way." or something along those lines.
Cool vid...I'm trying to get this trick down. That bali is bad, I actually just picked up the same thing a few weeks ago. Not the best but the price is good and it looks cool. Fine for a beginner.
try not to bang the latch against ANYthing, because itll break right off. its made of compressed metal waste i think...and try to oil it, thatll make it a little smoother.
^^ I know xD. I got in Florence as I was coincidetially walking past a knifeshop. I went in and saw this knife. Its kind of a cheapo and the latch cracked, but I like it.
the whole idea behind the "zen" part is the fact you ahve to flip it with the edge facign your hand, people asked for a harder move so thats why I made that video, BUT, this is a great video and will defimatly heklp people out! Nice job! 5 stars...
yup i see now. but see back when i made this video i was kind of a beginner. so maybe i should've said "more beginner friendly technique" than overall safer technique. cause anyone would fear the blade in the beginning i guess.
great video :D thanks for makin it safe, and not a 10 min tut~!

But it's perfectly rational to respect potential danger, and limit that danger with regards to one's own personal skill.
