  • how the fuck is this a turorial? you didn't explain any code, this is just a video of you making a game, its not a fucking turorial you idiot

  • PLEASE Set the Code in the discription..

Or upload the code in a Notepad that we can download it.

    ..

    WE CANT FOLLOW YOU !....

  • keep getting errors with the brackets right at the beginning, any help?syntax Error and all this stuff....i copied the video, and you got no errors, bwt i'm using CS3

PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ help me!

  • Spoiler Alert: Dont use Adobe Flash. Use something like Flashdevelop with Flex SDK and maybe a library. It doesnt cost any money and it is a lot more professional than Adobe Flash.

  • @drybonesGCN thank you for the feedback. for those reading, i agree that Flashdevelop is definitely worth taking a look into. however, if you're just a beginner, don't let the burden of making this decision hinder you from just diving right into Adobe Flash to learn the basics. you will have plenty of time and ability to learn more and make an informed decision down the road. fear not, the code you've already written will still be usable even if you choose to transition to other flash tools.

  • @DevNote also, drybonesGCN's suggestion is an excellent FREE alternative for those who can't afford Adobe Flash, or have used the Adobe Flash Free Trial past the trial duration.

  • Dont you work at Bobs Burgers?

  • Thanks, that what i meant.

  • Lol flash sucks!!!!! Why? because it cost money! you can develop in any other language for free!! most of your flash developers are nothing but stupid people who dont understand the concept of programming. Plus why would you start at creating a game when you have no experience in the language. Thats like building a car without the parts!! why even bother???

  • @GamesOfEnepic your profile says you're 35.. and you gave a thumbs up to that vid about installing backtrack on a usb, so i'm gonna lean on some demographic generalizations and assume that the weak and disorganized arguments you posted above are just a sequence of brain-farts you had in the midst of a rough day..

  • but if what you're really trying to say is that we should try to share your discontent with adobe for their monopolistic greed, that most flash developers don't practice good coding habits, and that game programming is not the ideal place to start for establishing good programming foundations, i agree with you.

  • How do I make that helpline come up, the one which makes the writing faster...

  • Ehm. Where do I download the program to program in? -.-

  • Hey Nice video DevNote

I am new to programming and i want to know how you learn the words, etc.

  • thanks for this

  • Too bad adobe flash costs a ton...

do you happen to know of any decent alternatives?

all the ones i've tried are terrible

  • @SGWyoshi If you go to the adobe site and nav to "Downloads," you should find something called the "Free Flex SDK." keep in mind that this is "Flex" and not "Flash," and so development will be different. however, once you've learned to handle the differences, they both can develop more or less the same final products, and they both use actionscript.

Thanks for the interesting new thought; I'll consider also doing flex tutorial vids (after i've finally posted the vids i've already promised).

  • Great tutorial. Im having AS3.0 lessons now, so your vids are very useful.

  • Great tutorials! Best quality video of this kind on youtube! Fantastic commentary and you dont just copy and paste the code like other videos! 5/5

  • This is a great tutorial!

But if you could explain why you are righting the code as you right it, im sure we could understand it much easier. Dont get me wrong, i am understanding what i'm typing after a while, but at first, i have no idea what im typing in. :P (this was for the external ActionScript)

    thanks!

  • Great feedback; I'll keep that in mind for future tutorials.
