I can already see you have a great seat by the way that you barely leave the saddle in the trot, it's great ! Just keep your hands down and you will have better control. Heels down, sit back, head up, you'll be a great rider for sure = )

Pretty horse! i have some advice; dont pull on the reins like that, keep your hands cool and down so you dont hurt the horse, keep your legs forward and quiet. Your heels are good for a first trot, though :) have fun!

i learnt to trot on a western saddle than my first reall riding lesson was in a english saddle and it was soo easy than i went on a trail ride on a stock saddle i did a canter the next lesson i was jumping that was strange O.o but you guys all who rides good luck =p

Probably on a lunge, right? Independent riding - especially with young children - isn't started until at least a few lessons into learning it.

Remember to collect your reins ,keep your heels down, AND dont let your hands boumce up and down!!keep them low..If your hands and up and your trying to stp that horse he will keep going.

your very good on my first lesson i rode the tallest horse they had and he was very tall and i had to stand up in the stirrups just about the whole lesson OW hehe but you learn to get used to it and it was a very windy day kinda freaked me out but hey i was like 11 so now i have reached up higher and can stand on a horse easily so any riders out there if you are new and feel like you dont do well well stop thinking that and keep riding =)

Well, not that bad for your first lesson. It's just that every beat of the horse's trot your hands seemed to pull back (they were high up as well) and thus pulling on the horse's mouth in a bad way. Anyway, keep riding, not bad for a first lesson.

dont quit riding lessons! i agree with kansess, there are always things people need to improve on. I have been riding since i was three years old(i am 14 now) i have been to regionals, and hits, with my horses, which is jumping about 4'6, and i take lessons twice a week!! so dont quit!

Yeah I would countuine with lessons unless you dont want to go far much and just know the basics. Even then though teachers at my barn get taught by other teachers it is just good to hve a pro telling you things you may not notice. well this doest remind me of my first lesson but I can assocaite with the teacher lol cute horse.

Good for a first Lesson! Put your heels down more, and hold the rein's steady and just a little above the saddle. maby also try not to let yourself move around so much in the saddle. i cant tell from this, but the moving might be jerking on your horses mouth. not to comphy for it xD. nice for a first go though! keep it up :)

just becauce you can post does not mean you should stop lessons. You should only stop riding lessons when you can do EVERYTHING and that will probably never ever happen in your life. I have tons for adult friend who own horses and still take lessons. I've been riding for ten years and there is still soo much I can still learn. Don't be so sure fo yourself.

thats not my horse that is the person that is giving me riding lessons i have my horse at the commen but i am seling her because she canterd thro a fance into my friens yeard and she only had ssin of her nose but we walked her thar at the side of the car with a lead out of the windedo she was fine but when we got there we let her of at the drinks and she canterd to the fence but the sun was in her eyes so she couldent see.
