@phreakyprofessor When you discriminate against a disfranchised minority (and most discriminations are against minorities) you're usually left with a big enough pool of talents. Especially when some minorities (and women as well) were traditionally banned from higher education, or come from a poor background where such education is beyond reach. There's nothing morally wrong about your statement, it just won't work in the real world.
The only reason the RNC ever said sorry for the southern strategy is so they could pretend it was in the past, then carry it on while saying anyone who complains about it is stuck in the past
I can't understand any minority voting Republican...hell, I can't understand any white person voting Republican unless they're like Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina, Rupert Murdoch, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and other mega millionaires.
A lot of Blacks are racist against Blacks too. Look at Jesse Lee Peterson. Look at back when MLK was still marching 70% of Americans had a negative view of MLK while 50% of Blacks also had a negative view. So if you wanna know how someone can vote with people who hate them. Maybe that's a start
@PoliticalSkeptic No there's not a lot. There's a few. They seem to be able to capitalize on that. And basically people are chickenshit until someone has enough balls to show them the way. They don't want to rock the boat. They're content to live under the thumb, to suffer rather than stand up. You certainly wouldn't find 50% of black people or even white people with a negative view of MLK. There was a time when people bowed before a Monarch and feared Democracy as well.
@xaviqaz Maybe it's a language thing...but your comment is either obtuse or incredibly naive and sanctimonious. No they are not minorities or races before individuals...but seeing as how a large majority of African Americans vote Democrat...it seems appropriate use the collective. If i said Sweden is by and large a progressive country I'm sure I don't speak for all Swedes. Sometimes we use the collective when talking in general terms. Do you understand that?
Haha, Tom Tancredo are you sure? Then most of the stupid teabaggers would fail and could not vote :D
