What commenters here doesn't seem to get, is that Renske's vocals always did this, singing / sliding out and in of tune - carrying a rather dismal tone is his trademark so to speak. I for one like this, I admit it's probably not for everyone, but I think it adds a tremendeous touch of feeling to his voice. Just listen to the singing on Ayreon's 01011001 if you want some wonderful emotive vocals from Renske.

It's sad but you are right.

I LOVE(!) their songs in studio version but the problem is that his voice isn't that charismatic without all these studio-effects etc.. =)

Finally you can say it's the video quality but I don't think that this sound quality is that bad.

@Opranius He uses reverb and delay effects, that's true. The problem is that he records a lot of supporting vocals (except in "my twin" and songs from discouraged ones, tonight's decision, and some more). Just listen to the studio version of this song. He has no clones to do all those vocals live. That would be amazing. They would need a bigger stage, anyway.
