Sorry to break it to you, but if you're gonna diss TTATC, then you better tell people there are alternate versions of the movie. Of course Miramax fucked it up, but if you watch the Recobbled version it's a really great movie. So people, if you want to make justice to the film which review you just saw, go watch the Recobbled cut NOW. I'm just saying.

I'm sick and tried of all of these animated princesses wanting more about cliched stuff like love. Why not do something different? Like having the princess being a villain and she wants more power and sings an awesome original song about it.
Too bad the Critic couldn't be bothered to EDUCATE his audience on the fact that this was supposed to be a work of art, like Yellow Submarine, and indeed got started BEFORE Yellow Submarine. that got demolished and rewritten by DISNEY into a family film because all animation is for children, right? FUCK Disney.
It was in competition with Aladdin, Disney's knockoff of the concept (which they knew was in production) so Disney bought this film and destroyed its director's career.
Aladdin had already been released, and Warner Bros, the studio who had originally funded the project, not only had a strict deadline, but little to no faith that it could work. So they dropped it, the Completion company picked it up, and Miramax took over. I'm not defending this cut whatsoever, but what happened to this movie is aLOT more complicated than "RAWR RAWR DISNEY RUINS EVERYTHING". Roy Disney HIMSELF stated he hopes the studio one day could restore the original version.
I looked up Matthew Broderick. My first impression: He is so clumsy and awkward that it makes him look funny. xD omg He seems pretty shy too, but a really nice guy. I also just made the connection that he voice acted as Simba, cool! :-D I wonder why NC doesn't seem to like him very much? Oh well.
@TheSnowyice have you seen Godzilla 2000 and the Inspector Gadget movie? Believe me, hes a far better voice actor (ergo the lion king) than he is a real actor and youll believe it when you see those movies >_>
@LordManda2 what about Glory, Ferris Bueller's day off, Wargames and Election? He did a damn good job in those movies plus his stage work is great too (granted stage acting is different than movie acting but still)
You know if Aladdan didn't beat him to it the cobbler would be a pretty good Kingdom Hearts character. In some ways this is like The Nightmare before Christmas and Alice in Wonderland put together. (I mean comparing the scenes and a few of the characters, not the actual plot or what the story is about.) :-)

This film reminds me of that Johnny Cash song "One Piece at a Time". The song where an auto worker steals pieces of cadillacs to make his dream car, but ends up making a junker from disparate parts.

This is quite possibly the most important Nostalgia Critic review ever. It finally brings light to the tragedy of Richard William's masterpiece and calls out the Weinsteins for ruining the film in EVERY. WAY. POSSIBLE.
I hope to see this film restored to what it should've been before Williams passes away. It would truly be amazing if we finally see it achieve the success it deserves.

@thegr8estone I'm sorry, but "a Aladdin"? Plus, this was in production long before "Aladdin", and in fact, Aladdin was partially influenced by this film.
Looks a lot like Aladdin so they thought of the idea before they even made the idea and was (I believe) released before Aladdin. Too bad the movie is really bad and freaking weird looking.
