  • I remember it like it was yesterday. What an exciting time! And then when the actual footage came? WOW!

  • You can tell it is fake because there are stars in the background.

  • @thechessstick *facepalm*

Ya, no shit. It's an ANIMATION designed to let the viewers know whats going on.

  • @JangoFett07 Sarcasm is wasted on some people. Hey, to you know that the Earth is only about 6000 years old and that Ron Wyatt found Noah's Ark?

  • @thechessstick Sarcasm IS pretty hard to tell online. I have the same problem.

  • no one has been to the moon yet they all been staged what ever the gov can think of to moilk us for cash they will doo

  • @jok325635 Who really benefits from faking the Moon landing?

  • nasa is so full of shit

  • Thats because this is the SIMULATION that they did to give the viewer some idea of what was going on. They say it several times during the broadcast...fucking dumbass. Trying to be smart by pointing out its fake. NO SHIT. Who the fuck would be filming from the outside of the lander? Think before you comment asshole.

  • If you prefer Neil&Buzz viewpoint, go watch it! It's the same sequence obviously, but with a view out of the LM window! Do a YouTube search of:

"apollo 11 lunar module powered descent" (1st entry)

  • I just love the simulation, lol!

  • Soviet really beat the shit out of the US, Soviet sent the first man to the moon, made the US fake the journey to the moon, be the safest space shuttle in the whole world, and just few days ago sent 6 US satellites up to the space by Soyuz.....and wait one more thing, the Soyuz produces less pollution than the US space shuttles.

  • At this time i was home on a sunday and my family and i were watching my grand father said we've come a long way from the wright bros.

  • Not sure if the networks were on their own in making their own animations or if it was supplied by NASA. And of COURSE CBS was going to have Uncle Walter talk over it! Not only was he the most popular news anchor in the U.S., he was a space expert (unlike NBC and ABC anchors). In fact one of his nicknames was "The 4th astronaut" .

  • 2:06: "Four and a half minutes left in this era."

  • I remember seeing this as it happened. The networks had to have something visual, so they came up with this simulation as an illustration. It was clearly marked as such, and the anchors referred to the simulated video. There was no live video from the moon until a few seconds before Armstrong set foot on the surface.

  • @MegaObserver1

"They came up with this"? Does that mean nobody gave them this footage?

Did the networks made this simulation?

And why is it narrated ?

This is hoax just as all the"moonlandings" was hoax.

  • @potrodsas This is what was telecast as the LM landed on the lunar surface. No television transmission was made from the spacecraft at this time as it was completely unfeasible to do so, given the logistics of securing a stable video feed from the moving ship. As a result, the networks devised their own animations (and even labelled them as such) to provide some sort of visual during this phase.

  • @potrodsas >MASSIVELY STUPID<

  • that was the original Nasa Video from there website !

  • yeah lol and the camera man was before apollo on the moon to film the landing on ground- thats so lol i can stop laughting !! hahahha stupid

  • @Smisser991 Is this a joke comment or are you just really, really dumb?

  • No matter how many times you watch and listen to Apollo 11 come in for a landing and touch down on the moon, it never ceases to be awesome! Thanks for posting!

  • "Small step for man and a giant step for mankind" summed up the Apollo Moon Landing as well as it could be done

  • When Walter said "Oh Boy.." it usually meant he was overwhelmed. You could hear the wistful tone in his voice as landing approached, quite unlike his usual rapidfire delivery.

  • Man...I remember watching this exact thing. It was my uncle's birthday and we were supposed to be at his house when this was happening. My mom had to call my aunt and tell here we were going to be late because we were glued to the TV watching this. We got there, there was little birthday celebration because the TV was on and everybody was glued to their sets watching the rest of the coverage. Truly a great moment in not only American, but world history. And I'm glad I was here when it happened.

  • I wasn't alive when this happened but I got chills watching it

  • Too bad that only in the end you can see and read it is animation.

  • Oh for heaven's sake...it was an animation that was broadcast as the landng took place. It isn't a "fake." This is what CBS broadcast to illustrate what was happening. It ends up out of synch with the actual landing because Armstrang had to take control and fly the LM past a crater that the automatic program was sending it into.

  • Of course it's fake. It's an animation. I doubt there were any jets on the moon to fly chase to get a video. Perhaps attending 4th grade science class would have been more helpful than smoking weed under the bleachers.

  • @bathat11165 did your education pay off? in other words you have a degree are you useing it?

  • @datzfast My education is an ongoing process and, yes, I use it every day, especially grammar and spelling.

  • @bathat11165 did your education pay off? in other words you have a degree are you using it?

  • @bathat11165 perhapsand i agree!! !! but wat about smokin weed and going to class and expanding your man in positive manner instead of being lazy. I know thousands of people who do . LOLZ Peace.

  • This does bring back memories....and Obama can kiss my backside!

  • On the day that President Obama yanked funding of future moon missions, this is a particularly bittersweet video to watch.

  • @brnstffn

The death of NASA wasn't just Obama's fault. This was coming for a long time. As a country, we weren't concerned with the future anymore. We were more worried about tax cuts and balanced budgets. The mantra for decades was budget cutbacks so our children aren't saddled with debt. Now our kids are saddled with a substandard education, crumbling infrastructure and no vision of future beyond 2012.

  • @airdriver

Perhaps we'd have more money if libtards weren't so worried about providing benefits to illegals. And don't bring up the federal education program, billions have been dumped into it and all its created is a corrupt liberal cesspool. LA is building 1 highschool that will cost the taxpayers $578 million dollars in the middle of a recession so don't talk to me about crumbling infastructure. Its time to reign in porkulus package spending and cut the extravagence.

  • @KiloByte69 Great idea---first thing I'd cut is the roads budget for wherever it is you live....

  • @donwert

Yes because that has everything to do with what I was talking about. Libtards would much rather see illegals and criminals receive benefits before law abiding taxpaying American citizens anyway.

  • @KiloByte69 No, but we sure would not want to see any taxes supporting right-wing ding bats like you!

    You jerkoffs are ruining America.

  • @donwert

No? You don't support illegals? How very unliberal of you! Idiot.

  • @KiloByte69 If you didn't live in that Palin/Bachman/Limbaugh/Hannity fantasy world, you might know what a true liberal is. I won't hold my breath though....

  • @donwert

Maybe you should look up Ron Paul because none of those people are true conservatives.

  • @KiloByte69 He's not a conservative...he's a libertarian...not the same thing at all...

I'm with him on the idiocy of the drug laws, but his obsession with gold is looney...

  • @donwert

He's an old style conservative moron, and of course you think his obsession with gold is looney. After all the libtards love printing fiat currency backed by nothing but thin air. Thanks for leaving our children with trillions in debt dipshit.

  • I love all the preparation they put into the simulations.
