If Joey didn't take his helmet off at the begining of the fight, why would Basil? They both had their headgear on when the fight began-so nobody had an advantage. Joey's helmet popped up when he got inside, but that's not Basil's fault. He held on early avoiding Joe's power, but did more than enough late to gain a tie. Kocur was a better fighter overall though.

Basil Mcrae was a very smart fighter, but a pussy compared to Kocur. McRae couldn't afford to let Kocur's hands loose, because Kocur would have KOed him.
