You say you are using waterborne Diamont Rm 900? Is that the BASF brand? When I look it up it is saying it is a solvent borne cleaner. Are there any issues wiping down basecoats with solvent borne cleaners before applying another basecoat or clear?
I just recently finished a project and got it clear coated. Afterwards I noticed that there is a light spot on the body paint where the frisket paper was. Should I have cleaned the surface from where the frisket was before I did the clear? Or does it have something to do with putting frisket on metallic paint?
Hey Ed! love your stuff man, I'm opening my own shop soon thanks partial to your videos! Quick question, what is the waterborne cleaner that you use to wipe after using the transfer paper no remove the residue? Thanks Ed, and keep sprayin!
can I do this effect over a newly applied base coat or does the vehicle need to be cleared first then sanded and layed out?Where did you get the waterborne cleaner? I can't seem to find it.great job by the way.thanks
@edhubbs not a bad take for the job. was probably in the shop for about a week, but how many hours of airbrushing? seems like that could have taken 2 or 3 working days alone.
um awesome work as usual! but that still shot of the orange peel in the clear? come on man, what u tryin to make ur helpers sand themselves to death? ak just givin u shit cuz no one else seems too! haha
@exotique999 AAHHHHHHHH YA caught that did. LOLI had to clear it and get it out of the booth in just a couple hours and then sand it the next day and do the sheet metal. And what really sucks is I am the one buffing, yup no helpers just little ol me.HA HA
Actually yes there is one for sale on my web site right now and when we get moved in to our new location I am going to sell a lot of the panels that I have done in the youtube video's and every thing hanging on my wall........cheap.
Not upscaling...down sizing.
7 acres and yes I will be hanging some horns up. My kids are gonna have a blast out there.
Ok everyone asks the obvious questions like what air brush you use or what paint, but I want to know where you buy the 4 oz bottles of talent that you keep hidden in the back of the shop, I would like to get a case or two of it
@archer82633 Me to,I want to advance my skills. I want to take a Dru Blair course at some point in life.Check him out on facebook the man is unbelievable.
All right Ed, now you're just flat showing off!! ;) When I first saw the pics of the tears in part one, I thought you were going to show us how to use that chrome paint out there because it was so 'shiney'. Can't believe you got that effect conventionally!! The overall project turned out great. I would hate to pick which one is your best. :)
Wow I started airbrushing because my father pulled out his old badger airbrush that he used 20 years ago ive been airbrushins for about 5 months now and I love it, and somehow every time I watch your videos inspiration bubbles up from inside me making me want to learn more, thank you sooooo much.
Dammit Ed...each time I think you've reached the top of your game ..you bump it up a notch..whew..that is one lucky sumbich trucker to be driving that work of art...!
