  • lets stop war.. make love.. not war.

  • if this guy wasn't a dumbass I would have applauded his speech, but it seems all he can do is read the script, and not his soul.

  • @LordKaisen maybe it came from his soul then he needed to write it down. Maybe not but at least he said it.

  • Vote all of the incumbant bastards out.

  • Right On!! Re-Pubs & Dems!!

  • This guy is right on about the Afghan quagmire, BRING THE TROOPS HOME, no wonder they want him out of the nut cased 111th congress.

  • This guy is being scapegoated by the corrupt Chicago-style politics of the Obama administration. Trying to nail this guy, but covering up for that criminal bastard Charlie Rangel.

  • @klard - You hit the nail on the head. He did ADMIT the accusation. He said the reason he was resigning was "...because I'm guilty..." This was not some kind of conspiracy that some of the bloggers suggest. This was an accusation made by a male member of his own staff, an accusation of sexual harassment. Are you suggesting that such accusation, admitted to by the good Congressman, is silly? The Democratic Majority Leader, Hoyer, is the one who insisted that this go to the ethics committee.

  • Yeah right...If he was for Obamacare, those allegations would have never come up. Wonder how much they paid off that employee to, after all this time, conveniently come out with these harrassment allegations, just before the vote on healthcare. More corrupt Chicago ploitics from this white house....

  • They got this guy Massa and forced him to resign. He made a staffer feel uncomfortable. How ridiculous has the Congress of the United States become? The petty crap that they ruin people's careers over. No wonder everyone in government is such a coward and sneaky stealthy crook. Someone puts their head and speaks some sense and they go after him.

  • He didn't fight the accusations. Maybe he did something very inappropriate. I don't know the facts, but if someone accused me of something I didn't do I would certainly defend myself.

  • 000MrAnderson: He actually admitted the accusations. My point is that these folks play a gotcha game that is going too far and is silly. So he says something that makes someone feel uncomfortable. That means he has to resign? In the meantime these clowns squander our resources and allow banksters to steal the entire wealth of the country right out in the open. These folks have some seriously misplaced priorities.

  • klard: "These folks have some seriously misplaced priorities"

It all depends what side of the fence youre on.

Look at it from their point of view

If it's their side it makes perfect sense, get it while you can, however you can, as long as you can. Take care of number one.

    You are So rite!

This group of hogs has been at the trough long enough.

Therere eating too much, it's time to cut some fat.

Next time we need to train them better.

If they get smacked enough, they'll learn

  • U.S.Congress : They are liars.They are dishonest.

  • I challenge all voters in the 29th Congressional district of NY to heed the comments of Congressman Massa. Had the Executive branch of our Government not only listened, but acted on his advice then at least one young constituent would have been able to exercise his right to vote on November 2nd 2010. It is surely the right of all citizens to expect that both houses of Congress regardless of party affiliation act in a truly responsible fashion with regard to the disposability of human life.

  • Also, the notion that democracy is impossible for Afghanistan is stupid. The Loya Jirga is a natural Pashtun custom that has existed longer than democracy in Europe. The problem is the Afghans who care about Afghanistan are not in power and we continue to play tribal politics, thinking we can break the cycle with force. It is possible to create an Afghanistan for Afghans, but you have to actually know what you're doing. And yes, there are long term strategic interests the USA has in the region.

  • I am sorry but the Afghan people have been fighting and dying for decades longer than we've been there. As if the USSR invasion wasn't bad enough, the shuras that compromised the mujahideen tore apart the country even more in the early '90s, only to weaken themselves to the point where the Taliban could take over. We should have been in Afghanistan in 1995, not 2001. And if we were really smart, we would have forced the Taliban into the Bonn Peace Accords when we had the chance.

  • Stop-loss, and the sending of National Guard troops into combat, should be reserved for cases of national emergency. (People signed up for the Guard to help with disaster relief, not to spend multiple tours in Iraq!) How can there be such an emergency without a draft?

Congress should specify that a President can use those measures only if the draft has been activated.

  • briliant give him an another medal somebody with

    balls

  • I served with Honorable Congressman Massa from 95-97. Can you imagine if your passageway was not clean before pulling into port? Give 'em some MASSA Eric, he gets it !! we need more like him accross the board! Kevin Bishop, ITCS(SW) retired, USS ELLIOT

  • Heroic speech, enough is enough indeed.

  • Now THAT'S a speech.

  • Bring them home.

  • This congressman is right why should the US engage in nation building in Afghanistan when the locals are not interested in it themselves.

The US does not want to "lose" the war in Afghanistan but come on even Alexander the Great abandoned his campaign in Afghanistan.

  • US never tried any 'nation building' because they never have and never will care about the ordinary Afghani

  • This a brave man. He was elected in one of the most Republican districts in the northeastern US. He speaks his conscience, and echos the beliefs of intelligent voters who think for themselves, who turn off the right wing hate machine and war mongering. Thank you, Rep. Massa!!

  • Obama lied, soldiers died....someone take this guy out back and .......

  • Secret overnight BUSH Family visit to Fort Hood ~ Concern MIL will turn on AIPAC Neocons and Wall Street/ Our military understands they have been deceived. Whistle-blowers and leaks will not be blacklisted. Loud chicken-hawks hide behind the troops. News blackout while lies are fabricated. Wall Street & not-Federal no-Reserve. Israel-first dual-national AIPAC. Mossad media megaphone. Official 9/11 propaganda. Anthrax intimidation. Stealth cia neocons
  • No RuflesRecords, we Democrats were NOT gung-ho about Afghansistan. We want the troops out then, and we want the troops out NOW.

  • The war of Afghanistan is UNWINABLE. There is civil war going on there. Very nice conclusion: "Why should American soldiers should die for a cause for which even native afghans don't want to ..."

  • @anavaman read The Prophet.

  • The U.S. never should have engaged there. Now its too late. Although S. Hussain was a dictator his dictatorship was A LOT better than that what will come in the future. btw.. I didn t want to call some of you idiots. It was adressed to those who began this silly war. Thats why i repeat it: IDIOTS !

  • You're confusing Afghanistan and Iraq.

  • Do you really think that the war on Iraq and the war on Afghanistan are 2 different wars ? You know about the power of the islamic forces in Pakistan. If we can trust the different rumours from there the pakistani government is close to collapse. Can u imagine what could happen if the islamic forces could unite from the indian border to Iraq ? i am not sure but maybe it could be the end of the supremacy of the U.S. &Israel in the arab region.

  • ...To point out the meaning of my last comment: I think the U.S. troops in Afghanistan are just an outpost to secure U.S. troops in Iraq.

  • It has come out that Hussein lied about WMDs, chemical weapons and all that stuff because he was more afraid of Iran than the West.

  • Idiots ! Withdraw the troops ? Now ? The U.S. have established a climate of hate and violence there, without any possibility of peaceful self-government of those peoples in that region. If they withdraw their troops by now, then u can be sure, that islamic fanatics overtake power in the whole region ! Idiots.

  • Thank you Eric. Amen

  • Stop the insanity! U.S. out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • And the question is where has this money gone?

  • This is music to my ears! Get out of Afghanistan!

  • Democrats before they were elected....

"Man you put us in office, we're going gung-ho in Afghanistan, we don't like Iraq, but man Afghanistan, we're gonna fight like crazy rar rar rar!"

10 months after they win Congress and the Presidency "stop this endless war" "why are we fighting" "let's pull all our troops out".

Lies to get elected and shore up their traditional national security weakness, dropped as soon as they got back in control.

  • Right on!

  • nice

  • Bravo, Congressman! Never back down!

  • The summary for this clip (in the upper right) is wrong. As the Congressman says many times in the clip, his speech was delivered on the 2,950th day of the War in Afghanistan---not the 1,950th day.
