The rescue bill that John McCain "suspended his campaign" to support and worked to get passed, failed to pass because Republican's voted against it. They added a pile of pork, McCain worked hard to get it passed and it passed. McCain then criticized Obama for "phoning it in"
Then McCain called the bill destructive to the economy, corrupt, a bad deal and an example of everything that is wrong with Washington. I think he even called on Bush to Veto the bill.

Because the bar's been lowered so much, I unfortunately think a lot of people will be impressed with Palin if all she does is speak in complete sentences. Even if the sentences aren't substantive or relevant.
I'm sure there will be a lot of people saying, "well, gee. She did okay." As though 'okay' is good enough. It's a sad state of affairs when mediocrity is 'good enough' for people when they enter the voting booth.

I don't think she is stupid. But it's impossible in three weeks to get up to speed on issues that she has never had to deal with and most likely has never given any thought before. As I've pointed out before, there are 16 US cities that have a larger population than Alaska. With all respect to the mayors of those cities, would all 16 of them be qualified to be Vice President? I doubt it. It's McCain's fault for plucking her out of Alaska without sufficient examination.
